These are great but noting this is my 2nd that has failed in the heat due to the plastic construction and spring loading.

        Ive had the cygnett one and the pad turns all gooey and the mechanism doesn't lock within weeks of purchase.

  Aren't there better cheaper products? I have one that is also a wireless high speed charger that I purchased for $20. What makes these so special that you decided to purchase a replacement unit after the first failed?

    They can stick to just about anything and the clamping mechanism is flawless, until it fails that is.

  The little plastic bit holding the spring in mine failed. Now one half stays open the other moves as usual. Still working. But a terrible design flaw indeed that little plastic bit.

  The other unit failed the same way. Booo!

  I ended up getting A Duracell holder, much better that it has not failed.

  Wish montar released v2 so they did not keep breaking, As is Brilliant holder minus the obvious flaws.

  I have one of these and it's been excellent for about 5 years now. I filed the feet at the bottom to make a side opening when I had a Galaxy S5 with a wide USB3 PLUG, which didn't affect it for anything else. It falls off my windscreen about twice a year in the heat but it sticks straight back on, and perhaps this could be prevented by re-seating it once a month or so. Various prices in the links below, mostly in the $30-40 range with postage.

  I've used mine all over Australia and it's varying temperatures for over 4 years now. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
