wait dont neg him, he was trying to say, "do not buy airpods, it is waste of your money"

      • -3

No the sentence was almost correct, should have been ‘don’t wast your money buy AirPods instead’.

      • +4

Don't. Waste your money. Buy AirPods

        Fixed.

These are less than a quarter the price. Plus - you lose a lot of the added functionality if you use AirPods with Android phones.

      • Gain a few things like no latency, reliable connection, support, better battery life, much better experience with iPhone, most of the same with Android. 100% you can't compare as these are cheapo TWS buds. Compare these to QCY TWS clones.

I haven't had any of the chinese true-wireless earphones have connection issues, even from 10-15m away. Battery life same - I've used them a few times for 2-3hrs (usually I use them for shorter durations) and it's fine, and I don't see any situation where I'd need to use them for longer in one sitting. I haven't had to use any of the aftercare support, but that's mostly on the seller rather than the product anyway.

Only real difference I can imagine is latency - the ones I've tried have tiny but perceptible lag that you notice when watching Youtube maybe once every few times, but (for me at least) that I forget about and don't notice after a minute or two.

Will there be differences? Yeah definitely. But without the iOS specific functionality (and arguably even with them), not worth the 4x price difference.

@HighAndDry: If you are on android better to just buy the Galaxy Buds if you are in the market for premium buds over the Airpods. Although they are inner ear and not in ear so that could affect choice as it does for me.

I had MiDots for 2 days before left on would stop working sometimes, not connect other times. Latency was so bad that it made most talking videos look like it was poorly dubbed. Battery life was about 4 hours max for me at about 1/4 volume, AirPods are about 6 hours at the same volume, and has more capacity in the charging case too which is a nice convenience.

The only thing I don't get is taking the airpods out to pause music, everything else I have as I used a friends iPhone to set them up. Really are fantastic devices at great price compared the competition.

I tried 3 BT bud:, MiDots, QCY29, T1C - before I ended up just buying the airpods, they don't sound incredible, but they are leagues ahead in terms of reliability, battery life, latency, and call quality.

The MiDots were pretty good compared to the other cheapo buds I have for sure, they felt much higher quality and the features were quite nice. Like I said I did have issues with them.

I've been using a pair for 3 months, connection quality, sound and call quality pretty good.
Battery lasts 2-3 hours of music playing, very minimal latency when playing PUBG mobile (with a Samsung S8 phone)
Also, double-touch to activate voice assistant (can be set to Google or Bixby so you are not limited to Xiaomi one)

    • do you notice any lag/latency when watching video (sound and video don't match, sometimes 1-2 seconds apart)? I tried many different Bluetooth ones (even Bose QC35 II or Sony MX-1000m3) they still have a little latency (more or less), not like the wired headphones. Thanks

      • Very minimal with my pair, but some other people have reported these issues with BT earphones (not just Airdots, BT earphones in general), I think it might have to do with the codec the phone uses but I'm not an expert in this field

  • These are actually meant to be pretty good - even compared to Airpods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B27EhYeb_zk

Oops, I was thinking the Pros - disregard!

damn millennials ripping off our pensioner style, I was wearing hearing aids before they were cool and my battery lasts longer

  • Do we have deal for airdots pro ? Thanks.

    • +1

I would steer away until there's an updated "Pro" version with BT5.0 (with some features suitable for TWS) instead of BT4.2

      • Why?

        • Almost all the new TWS earphones are BT5.0 now, better connectivity, better range, less power consumption, improved sync between left and right etc.

I was quite surprised that the Airdots Pro uses BT4.2 whereas the earlier cheaper version Airdots Youth (this post) uses BT5.0

          • @Mostly Melbourne: All TWS earphones don't fully support the specs, so all of the things you mentioned have no benefit over 4.2 buds. If only though! What we can hope for is a great BT 5.2 perhaps….until then BT 5.0 on cheapo buds is just 4.2

  • Would love a deal on the airdots pro

  • heard this is rubbish.

  • The QCY ones are much better than this for much cheaper.

  • GVMABH - no longer works :(
