Please include the price in the title (it's the first thing in the rules & guidelines for a reason).

Not including GST will make you look dodgy.

Information on the models provided will help people decide whether or not it's a bargain, generic descriptions make people shrug and walk away.

  • +1

    Put price in title

  • +4

    SPAM, not including shipping.

  • +3

FYI, its illegal to list a price that doesn't include GST..

    • -1

      Illegal???? since when?
      methinks you are misinformed

Most wholesalers and trade prices are ex GST (and +GST, if relevent is stated in the pricing guides)
vendors that are not registered for GST dont charge it on. (well they shouldnt)

In a retail environment eveybody assumes GST is included, as it should be, but i always ask or check the fine print prior to purchasing just to be certain.

      • +4

Since always. You cannot advertise retail prices that exclude GST. It's not good enough to say "plus GST" or include any disclosures in fine print. If there is a price, it must be inclusive of GST.

      • +4

I used to work for a magazine publication advertising cars/bikes/etc, and as someone who designs the ads, we used to get into BIG BIG BIG trouble if we ever listed a price that had +GST, ex GST..

Whilst you can get away with it if you're a wholesaler, this website is designed for end users..

        but anyway..

        • +2

Thanks guys, i have now been informed…. :)
i have always been involved with Wholesale/trade pricing so never really bothered with the finer details of retail pricing. Thanks.

  • I have since amended the post.

This is not spam this is a genuine offer, email us to confirm or feel free to call.

    • +1

This is not spam this is a genuine offer

what's the offer then ???? why is this a bargain ???

  • +1

Seems significantly overpriced compared to similar items available from overseas sellers.

  • +2

Does this include the installation as well?

Seems a little to steep for a 4 channel kit.

  • +1

    How is this a deal.
I can not even find it on that website.
Google eBay and they have some units same specs for under half this price with enclosed domes that make you wonder where the camera is pointing..

    • +1

      How is this a deal.

unless the rep can prove otherwise, it's not, it's just SPAM

  • If the input resolution is 1024×768, then this is a good deal. Otherwise, it is spam.

    • Not if it is only for a single channel. Must have 1024x768 input resolution for all 4 channels operated simultaneously.

      • I'm talking about input resolution to the DVR (ie, the resolution of the camera).

        • Same here. But, sometimes the input resolution to the DVR is a multiplexed addition of the 4 camera resolutions. They advertise high figures that often only work with one camera. That is, 4 cameras each inputting 1024*768 at 50Hz is a 4 times greater input stream than 1024x768 at 50Hz input stream to the DVR which only gives each camera 512x384 at 50Hz.

  • Does the price drop if you don't include the HDD?

    • in short, No. The HDD is supplied with the kit.

So… no models or brands? Generic chinese stuff?

    • +1

      1) Why do you need multiple accounts?

      2) The saving is not $321.83. RRP of $1320.83 inc GST. Sale price is $999 not inc GST. Therefore savings will be less once GST is included in sale price.

      3) Will you give us a brand name?

      • Multiple accounts so that myself and another Fermax rep can post comments individually if one or the other is not in the office.
The $999.00 is including GST and as per the previous note was amended after it was pointed out we should put the complete price including GST.
The brand is Fermvision manufactured in China for us.

        • +3

they don't trust enough to share an account - maybe you should get some cameras for when you aren't in the office, oh…

  • +1

Installation is NOT included in the prices. A licensed electrician should be used to install any cabling.

I think you are appealing to the wrong market - very limited use for those here

    • +1

I think you are appealing to the wrong market - very limited use for those here

Agreed, to those of us not 'in the know' on this stuff; regardless of any good intent on behalf of the OP; this just looks like SPAM to me too!

I'm not negging it, but ozpete's nailed it…wrong target audience! ;)

    • Cheaper for a reason. Read the specs.
      Our Camera specs
      • 1/3 Sony CCD, 540TVL
      • 4-9mm built-in manual iris lens
      • 36pcs IR LED
      • DC12V.
      • Zoom focus can be adjustable without opening the case

Their camera specs (in your first example)
      • 350TV lines
      • Inbuilt infrared illumination
      • Day/night operation

Also, you can connect our DVR system to your router and view the cameras live from anywhere in the world (internet access being available to you of course), using our iphone, Blackberry or Andriod app. It is also Internet explorer Supported. Meaning you can log into the DVR and make adjustments or download recorded events from anywhere in the world. The DVR from Jaycar you have compared to ours can not connect to your internet at all.
As for the other comparisons you have provided, our systems specs still exceed them.

      • The DVR from Jaycar you have compared to ours can not connect to your internet at all.

"Monitoring may be done real-time the monitor included or on a LAN network, via the internet, or smart phone by several users at once and the DVR can be controlled either by mouse or the IR remote control."
        http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QV3030&keywords=4+ch…

"The built-in Ethernet capability enables the unit to be accessed (with password protection) via the Internet using a standard web browser. The main feature is the Smart Phone support and the iPhone app you can download from iTunes to view live or recorded footage."
        http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QV8104&keywords=IR+c…

        • I was responding to your first example as when I was writing that you only had one example up being the $499 priced one. Other specs, even in the $849.00 example are not quite on par with our specs.

  • Spam bargain & item found cheaper elsewhere for the same/equivelant item, pretty much anywhere else you can buy it.

    • +1

      By the reps own admission…

our price is competitive to other comparable systems in Australia

      so it's not a bargain… just spam

  • For the specification and equipment that you receive in this package, we believe it is a bargain.

    • +3

As consumers with reasonable IQ, we don't.

  • +1

Limited specs included. Fails to mention what brand of equipment is included. Also fails to mention how many hours of footage can be recorded before the HDD gets full and needs to be either deleted or transferred to another source, if this is possible? If you have a web site you needd to link to the product. Not just upload a poorly produced picture.

  • cif/25fps/ch , 512kbps (recommended), 5.27GB/day , four channel occupy 21GB/day , 24 days with 500GB hard drive
    4cif/12fps/ch , 1024kbps (recommended), 10.55GB/day, four channel occupy 42GB/day, 12 days with 500GB hard drive

Using motion detection can increase the length.

As stated above g12345567 "The brand is Fermvision manufactured in China for us."

The footage can be backed up via USB or over the network. Recordings can be locked to restrict deleting.

It is now on our website
    http://www.fermaxaus.com.au/index.php?/content/view/89/106/

  • This site is not here for you to advertise for free.

Also, I'm very doubtful fact that you weren't aware that it is highly illegal to advertise retail prices excluding GST. Either you were being deceptive or you are highly incompetent.

    • -1

This is a genuine discounted offer.
Highly incompetent regarding the GST? The offer is $999 including GST.
Read from the info. It says $999 excluding shipping. If you read further down you will see we have clarified that the $999 INCLUDES any GST. I have also provided shipping costs in another post in this thread for Capital cities.
We have in no way acted deceptively.

      • +1

Other users noted that the price didn't include GST originally. You even made the statement that you modified the price to include GST. Make up your mind sunshine.
