I've bought one of these magnetic phone holder before, there several issues:
    1) You can't orientate the position of where the phone faces to suit the driver.
    2) The magnet I had was not strong enough to handle bumps in the road, it definitely would not survive a bumpy dirt track!
    3) When you remove the magnet because it's so annoying, you have glue residue that's difficult to remove,
due to the magnet sitting on your dashboard and the glue melting from months of sitting in the hot sun.

    • My experience is the opposite and have one in a ute. Bumpy roads are fine, mounted on the face of the dashboard and out of the direct sun. It's inconspicuous, doesn't block a fan vent, and plenty of space to mount it viewable from the driving position.

It does require magnet on metal connection so the metal plate is stuck on the back of the phone cover, not within. It's a flat smooth disc the size of a 20 cent piece and looks fine.

They cost $4 to buy Australian stock.

I much prefer the design where the magnet clips onto an air vent. I use a larger metal plate stuck to the phone case to secure mine.

  • Better to get the Vava magnetic mount, I've got two and they easily hold my note 8.

It pivots too so you can adjust the angle.

Anywhere you can suggest to buy one?

  • Anyone suggest similar not from AliExpress? I've lost too much money from fake sellers already.
