27" IPS 1440p Monitor - Advice

I need a monitor for work (document creation, pdf reading and web browsing) that will allow me to have multiple windows open side by side.

I don't play games and only occasionally watch videos so I don't think I need a refresh rate above 75Hz.

I'm after a 27" monitor and am thinking IPS at 1440p best suits my needs.

Any thoughts on best / cheapest monitor that fits the bill?

Also, if you think 1440p is not necessary, would be great to hear your thoughts as there seem to be a bunch of 1080p monitors at 27".

    • This is the best value for money approach. If you really wanted and have space, for a little more they do a 32 inch model too.

      • 32 inch model is cheaper

    • Yep

  • Any 1440p HP

  • Sounds like you need an ultrawide or super-ultrawide (or whatever it is called). Most will be 1080p, but I think there are higher res ones if you are willing to splash some cash.

  • 1440 is so worth it on 27”

    I got a benq 2765HT and it’s great.

  • 1440p is definitely necessary. I had three south korean Crossover 27" IPS 1440 monitors for 6 years without an issue, at an incredible price for the time. They're much more affordable from name brands these days though, just look around, ASUS is a good choice.

  • One of my friends picked up one of the 27 inch 144hz kogan monitors for fairly cheap. If you plan to do any gaming whatsoever on it you should try to get at least 100hz it sounds like marketing bs but it makes a huge difference.

  • You need an ultrawide monitor. I have 29" LG 29UM60-P IPS display. Great bang for buck IMO.
