Samsung 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos Soundbar HW-950 $1195 C&C (+ Bonus $150 rebel Gift Card) @ Harvey Norman

80

Not as cheap as previous deals, but HN is currently selling this soundbar for $1195 with bonus $150 Rebel E-Gift Card.

Note: TGG is currently selling this for $1999. Could potentially gain further savings down to around $1,034 by buying from TGG and claim price match (if I’m not mistaken, you’ll receive around $965 worth of store credits). Obviously get in quick before TGG drops it’s price to match HN.

  • What is with the shitty number of input ports on soundbars? 2 HDMI inputs on a $2000rrp soundbar system, WTF Samsung.

  • I get why people buy soundbars (ease of use, space limitations), but spending this much on one is just ludicrous. You are much better off getting a good receiver with decent speakers for much lower than this price and then adding on speakers as you go. No way this would produce nearly as good sound as dedicated speakers. Should you have space limitations, I'd recommend getting a cheaper sound bar. Any 'atmos' sound produced by this would be simulated at best.

    • +3

That would be my assumption also but I'm constantly amazed at how many good reviews the ATMOS enabled soundbars get. Watched a whole lot of Youtubers reviewing the Samsung HW-N950 and even they look surprised when it does what it supposed to do.

While a component system will always be better it is a bit of double edge sword. To get an ATMOS enabled receiver you are looking at around $600, this leaves you with $600 for you speakers(as an equivalent to the soundbar). If you want the best out your ATMOS receiver you need to spend a decent amount on speakers.

I guess it's pretty simple - you give up quality and connectivity for saving some cash and simplicity.

    • Agreed - but to get 7.1.4 you need a sub $2k amp and around minimum $500 for speakers that don’t suck.

The good guys have it same price with $180 store credit (Concierge service)

    • Damn it, it was selling for $1999 this morning. I guess they saw HN's price and had to price match it.

    • 10% off tomorrow for them will bring it down to $956 if they dont price jack

also noticed there click and collect shops that show out of stock via ebay are in stock via their website. so no doubt limit stock for all the items again.

      • Wouldn’t 10% off bring it down to $1,075.50? Or is it 20% off?

        • It’s 20% off

        • yep sorry typo from me. 20% off
