Star Discount Chemist have the following deal on their website for users who pre register for their app, which is apparently being released this month. Star Discount Chemist has locations in QLD, SA and NSW.

According to the program terms and conditions "Points may be redeemed by a Member by being used to pay for the whole or part of any
purchase at participating SPG Stores". There don't appear to be any terms nominating a minimum spend in order to redeem the points, so I presume that the 500 points can be used on a $5 item.

  I mean, they use same colours as chemist warehouse presumably to throw off the consumer but what’s in it for me? Because, let’s face it. It’s all about money. Give me more $$$ off what chemist warehouse charges me for my script and then we’ll start a conversation, until then…why bother.

    They can't discount scripts. It's the law.

    They can discount non-script stuff though.

      Then why does the same script cost me less at Chemist Warehouse than it does at every other pharmacy?

      They can't discount scripts that are subsidised by the government. However, most medications are below the PBS threshold. I'm even on one drug that it's eligible for PBS subsidy that CW sells for below the threshold, saving money for both Medicare and for me.

    Chemists stock a wide range of products - not just medications on scripts. Just buy something on special with the $5. It might end up being free😉

  I’ve bought medication from them in the past. Very expensive (no cheaper than anywhere else, was more expensive than the other mob they trying to rip off with their same colour scheme). Just gotta use your brain (research)

  First check if there is a store near you
  eg There are only 5 stores in 50km radius of Brisbane (OP's location) & 2 more within 200km.

  This chemist chain is based at Kent Town SA.

  My nearest store is 25km. So a $5 discount (buy sale item) would eat up the cost & inconvenience of 50km travel (unless I was already going that way).

  NSW locations are West Ryde (Sydney) and Cardiff (Newcastle) if anyone's wondering.

  They really do not have many stores.
  I'm going to wait a bit and see, 500 points sounds an awful lot like halfway to a discount.
