  • 10/10 would recommend a Kamado instead. Can be had for the same dollars when Costco stock them.

    • Agreed

10/10 a totally different bbq. Get both.

      • True they're different, but I'll never go back to a gas BBQ. The gas Weber can't do anything different to my stove or oven, except be on the back patio. The Kamado on the other hand…

        • +4

Far easier doing the Sunday bacon and eggs on a gas bbq

          As above get both

        • The gas Weber can do near immediate lid-down cooking on a weekday night when you can't be bothered getting the charcoal going. You can't do this as well on your stove or oven.

I currently have a gas Weber Q, a weber kettle, a smokey mountain and a weber go anywhere. But on a weeknight, I most often turn to the weber q.

  • Gas vs charcoal… the good ‘ol battle
Preference is subjective… let people to choose whichever they like.
Note: above Weber is gas only (does not have charcoal)

Thanks op for posting this deal.

  • I know charcoal can give better flavours, but I just prefer the convenience of gas. It’s a BBQ democracy.

I’ve got one of the older egg-shaped Webers and it does a good job, but there are a few niggles. For example this new model has a porcelain lid, while mine has an aluminium powder coated lid. We live near the sea, so the aluminium is corroding and the powder coating is going back to powder.

I see this new model has stainless steel grills. Cast iron are better but even porcelain coated like mine, they are a bugger to keep clean if you are not using the BBQ constantly. Mine came with two grills but I swapped one for a hot plate which gives me more options - not clear what this one has.

You do pay a premium for Weber, but they are good.

Is the 2000 points worth $100?

    • 2000 points equates to approx $20 to $40. Depends on how you redeem them. Best value will be for flight upgrades

      • That’s if you can get an upgrade

  • Uhh as if you wouldn’t also have a gas barby, or would you rather either heat up your house with the oven/stove, or light a fire each time.

  • l have had both gas and charcoal but now have, Char-broil Tru-infrared best of both worlds gas bbq with the char from infrared some of the best tasting steaks l ever had on a bbq.

  • Don't get the bargain price point being a few bucks off retail ?

Simple google search shows the sheet price point !

  • has anyone received theirs yet? If so, can you please confirm if it came with a hotplate? The Qantas site doesn't mention anything about the hotplate, but the weber site does.
