Grunt 50mm x 9m Ratchet Tie Down $16 @ Bunnings

110

Saw this when I went to the Bunnings store to grab some wood. It seems to be very good value as similar ones go upwards of $25. I ended up buying one at the Craigieburn, VIC store and it has definitely payed off for itself as it made my life a ton easier. Hope this helps you OzBargainers too!

(This is my first post, soz for any mistakes)

I have both this one from Bunning and these from https://www.totaltools.com.au/100165-guardall-2500kg-ratchet… Total Tools. The Guardall one material is twice as thick and the actual ratchet mechanism looks, weighs and feels much sturdier. Only $2 more. The Bunnings ones where to cut up and shorten the strap to make it easier when trailering a car. I only bought one to test, ended up using the Total tools ones instead.

      Actually cheaper by 5cents

50mm 2500kg is overkill for the average DIYer just transporting bits of timber. For tying down a car on a car trailer, go for it.

    • At the time I bought this, me and my dad just finished loading 30 90x45x2.7m Structural Pine studs. We saw this for $16, but since it was too OP, we looked for lower capacity ones, turns out, a bunch of lower capacity ones were priced much higher than the $16 one, so yeah. Plus, it helped since we loaded an additional 15 as well as a few 3m F17 lintels too. Tough the rest of the time we used it was for maybe 5 or so studs or a few infernal doors or even a single metal pole.
