Not deep enough. Dont get real thick waffles.

I totally agree. I always wanted a Belgium waffle maker but couldn't find a good one. I settled for a waffle maker like the one advertised above but rarely used it.

I now have a Breville Smart Waffle Maker BWM640BSS. It is a lot more expensive—I paid about $200. It was a good investment because we use it frequently and it makes the best waffles!!

      • agree, the BWM640BSS is worth the price imho because it is so easy to use and produces consistently good results

Any tips OP? I was thinking of using greens pancake mix?

    • Look up norwegian waffle recipes.
Here's one, not sure if any good, haven't tried it.

Norwegian waffles are lighter and closer to a pikelet texture than Belgian waffles.
      And they're delicious πŸ˜‹

        Hmm…

        • Hehe, I haven't tried that recipe, I use one from my norwegian relatives.
Can't be bothered typing it out here though.

As mentioned in previous waffle posts, to make authentic crispy lightweight waffles you need a maker that flips over, or else you'll just end up with a waffle shaped pancake.

Kmart has one for $30, whilst I've never used it, you'd have a better chance of achieving pleasing results .

Not true, the BWM640BSS doesn’t flip them over but produces crispy lightweight waffles. source: I own and use one

      • I've got the same and works great.

  • Use these to make Pandan waffles.
