  • Same price on eBay, but made cheaper by site wide discount codes? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Esatto-EHPD7-7kg-Heat-Pump-D…

Perfect timing. Can i ask if any one has experience/comments on this brand? have not had any Esatto appliances before. Just wanted to make sure it is safe and reliable.

I took a punt some time back and bought one when it was $700+

Has performed well in the year or so I've had it. A steal at this price, esp for a heat pump dryer.

I bought 1 about a year ago. Excellent performance, dries very well, quiet and very efficient. Only complaint is the filter does fit tightly with small gaps on the sides that lets some lint through. Easily fixed with some thin adhesive foam (that is normally used on doors or windows to stop draughts). So happy with it that I bought a second one about a month ago for a relative.

  • What is this "Heat Pump" concept ?

My $200 Simpson pumps out heaps of heat into the laundry.

    • More energy efficient

    • +2

You unit probably uses a heating element which is approx COP of 1 (i.e. 100% efficient). Heat pump is about COP 3 - that is 3000W of heat for 1000w of input.

At about 20c /kwh, the resistance element would cost $0.60 per hour to run and the heat pump version $0.20 an hour. I guess it depends how often you use a dryer as to the cost benefit.

      • At $570ish, I presume you'd struggle to get a cheaper unit that wasn't awful. So there's no real reason to have the old tech with higher running costs.

In a nut shell, electricity in a Heat pump drives a motor to pump Freon around (like an air cond but in reverse). Normal dryer is electricity to heat an element. Both have a fan. Motor efficiency is much better than heating element, therefore use less power.
Edit: ah didn't read first, what Calvin27 said :P

    • Same concept as an air conditioner, not heating the air but moving heat from one place to another.

In this case moving (pumping) heat from the environment to the air the clothes are in. For an Air Conditioner (cooling) it would be opposite moving (pumping) heat from within the home to the enivronment outside.

  • From what I have read it is the same as the Kogan one with different branding . Kogan was $499 when it first launched https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/395669
    Kogan currently $549

This is cheaper once delivery is factored in, especially if you have an old appliance to remove. Especially if you use ebay code to take $50 off.

Plus, I think generally Appliances Online has a better rep than Kogan for after sales? That’s just anecdotal from people I know though

  • Is it condensing or just a heat pump?

    • Sorry, there's heat pump & condensing heat pump? I'm new to this.

      • Condensing means the water is captured by the dryer, either to a tank or through a hose (this dryer has both options). The alternative is “vented” where hot wet air is pumped into the laundry.

I think most (all?) heat pump dryers are condensing? Vented are the cheapest. Heat pump is the most energy efficient.

        • I have this unit - there’s a little drawer which stores the condensed water which you should empty after each load.

Alternatively you could also pipe the water out to a nearby sink, with the provided accessories.

  • $576 with code PANIC10

  • Can this be wall mounted?
I know they are heavy but what would be the best way to wall mount this?

    • It’s vsry heavy, over 50kg so I don’t think it’s wall mountable?

  • Used to sell Esatto appliances, cheap junk imo.

    • Can you please elaborate

      Thanks

  • Can't apply this code or the 10% PANIC10 code.
"This code can't be applied to your order."

Does ebay think I'm too rich to get a discount?

  • bought. Thanks OP.
apparently the issue with 10% was my ebay account country not set to Australia.
Appliances Online called me the next day for delivery.

  • Be careful with this Company. The delivered a fridge to our house and while moving the fridge, they damaged our floor. Customer service is bad and do not want to entertain us until we complain further higher up the rank. Back and forth and basically they do not want to fix the damages. I am heading to ACCC to complain.

Just a note to everyone - be careful with this company. It may seems to be a deal but with bulky white goods they may cause damage to your property while delivering it. It is time consuming to get this fix but I can't let them go away for damaging my property.

Bought last night at 10:30pm, got delivered at 1:30pm today. Incredible!!!!
The only problem I had is that they moved the delivery 1 hour ahead of the start of the given window and they only gave me a 30 min warning. However, Daniel from the phone support team was great and got them to wait for me while I got home.

    I definitely recommend these guys.

By the way, when I bought last night, eBay said the estimated delivery was between the 4 and 5 of April, but I got an email at 6:20am today advising it would happen today.

    Thanks so much OP!!!!
