  • FYI the Android TV app is out now. Much better than Chromecasting.

Even if your device isn't officially supported, you can sideload the app.

I'm using the Nvidia Shield app on my Vodafone TV. There's plenty about it on Whirlpool.

    • I just tried but can’t find it in the Google Play Store.

      • +1

Vodafone TV is not officially supported, therefore it needs to be sideloaded and cannot be found in the Play store.

Search for the Whirlpool thread. I downloaded it from MEGA. In the settings menu turn on installing apps from other sources and uncheck the verification switch underneath.

Much better with the Android app than casting for me, plus it's easier read all the shows tiles on the TV.

  • Yep there for me.

  • +1

Do they have beInSports extra channels?

  • I have 2250 channels US CABLE :) I’m in nsw

    • That's good and a shame.

    • +2

      What service do you use?

  • Has anyone who has used this offer only been charged $5 + the $1 authorisation? I've been charged (and Jesse Jackson) $25 + $1…

  • +5

SCAM ALERT. I signed up for this offer, with my existing Kayo account and Telstra account. I was clearly presented with the $2.50 per month offer and selected it, but was charged $25 + a $1 authorisation fee.

I've just spent an hour on a live chat with Kayo and the conclusion he reached was that it was my fault for clicking on the link from this page. He then told me the link I SHOULD have clicked on which was…. the link from this page. He has refused to refund me, so I'll need to report this to the ACCC or some such body?

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS. IT DOES NOT WORK.

      with my existing Kayo account

Isn't this for NEW kayo customers only?

      • +1

Yeah wondering if the people getting charged $25 are existing members so it doesn't work for them. Even if it has the redeem button next to their account. Sounds likely… Could also be something like they charge $25 but refund it if you don't continue with the third month?

        • It may well be for existing customers only, but even as an existing customer, I logged in and was still presented with the $5 plan, which I chose, and then ended up getting charged $25 anyway.

    • Chargeback and report to TIO.

    • You'll need to call up and get transferred to Australian support. The foreigners don't understand consumer law and/or how dodgy such practices is.

Australian support will more than likely refund and cancel the subscription for you.

    • +1

Agreed this is a scam Telstra should stop advertising this as a member benefit

  • This deal isn't showing up in my offers, telstra customer for over a year too

  • As per my earlier posts, I've been charged $25 (like Jessejackson) instead of $2.50. So I've just come off livechat with Kayo (booted me off as they were closing) and they said that I used the incorrect link to sign up for the Telstra $5 for 2 months. It wasn't showing on their end that I'd used it……

They wouldn't refund me to allow me to try again but passed it onto a "Manager". Will see if they contact me….

    • Was this for a new kayo account or did you apply this to an existing kayo account?

And wonder if the kayo email address has to be the same email address as the one on the Telstra offer

    • I ended up leaving the live chat and telling them I'd escalate it. I don't think the ACCC can really do much to help here - I think the only option is to do a chargeback on my credit card and hope the bank helps me out. Or try them on live chat again.

    Just signed up! Fantastic!

  • I have 2 numbers on my Telstra account & it has ‘Redeem’ on each number, so I’m wondering if it will stack so I get 4 months for $10!🤔
Anyone else have this or know how/if it will stack?

  • go to /r/nbastreams for free live streaming of nba games

    • mate, you can stream literally any games from reddit LOL i mean don't get me wrong, this is nice to have, but not must have.

  • Nice find thanks OP

  • Just in time for F1!

Worked for me with the $5 deal.

I went to the Telstra homepage and logged in to My Account
Clicked My Offers on the bottom of the page
Clicked 2 months for $5 Kayo Basic that popped up on the offers page.

The next page that loads showed me that this offer can be redeemed on 1 of the accounts I manage
Clicked the redeem button and it took me to the Kayo sign up page and it showed a button with Basic $2.50 p/m (was $25 p/m).
I clicked that button and it took me to the sign up page.
That page confirmed the promo cost and I completed registration.

My Credit Card shows they charged me $2.50 and the $1.00 holding fee.

1 thing that I did notice is the registration page automatically put my old Kayo account email in the registration page.
Maybe this has tripped up some people and could be why they were charged $25 instead of $2.50.

Hopefully this helps some people with the deal.

    • Did it put in your old kayo account details because that's the email linked to your telstra ID? But then work anyway when you changed it to a different email (and mobile number) to make a new account?

      • I've got 2 Telstra log ins.
I use my gmail to log in normally but my Bigpond email also logs me in.
I was logged in to gmail and when it said I could redeem it was referring to my bigpond email.
Kayo registration page put in my gmail so I changed to bigpond and it worked fine.
Also had to use wifey's mobile because mine said already used.

    • Clicked the redeem button and it took me to the Kayo sign up page and it showed a button with Basic $2.50 p/m (was $25 p/m).
I clicked that button and it took me to the sign up page.
That page confirmed the promo cost and I completed registration.

So what happen once you pass the 2 months period and you forget that you subscribed to Kayo?
on the 3rd month then you'll see $25 bill ?

      • +1

        Yeah pretty much.
Just remember to cancel some time in the 2nd month and it should cancel at the end of that month avoiding the $25 charge for the next month.

  • No offers with a Foxtel by Telstra account. Also used to have mobile and internet with them years ago.

    • I think it requires an active post paid mobile or home phone/broadband account

  • Dammit it just saw this and it's the 15th.
Was going to sign up for the AFL
Anyone know f an Xbox or lg web os app?

    • No to both

    • You can watch on the edge browser on Xbox

      • Ah that's great . Does it give same quality stream as the app would

  • New to Kayo and only got charged $2.50 + $1

  • -3

    Anyone want to share kayosubscription

  • Would a post-paid plan on Telstra, signed up via JB Hifi, be applicable to this deal?

    • Yes cause you're still a Telstra customers

I did the same and activated this offer a few hours ago

  • I have previously used the 2 week trial with Kayo (direct through Kayo)… Would I be able to sign up to this offer now and use the same email address that I had used with my kayo trial? Or am I better off signing up with a different email address?

    • This is what I want to know.

I tried different email addresses but it said my mobile was already registered which is a problem.

Not sure how to get around this as the Kayo trial account is linked to a mobile number and so is the telstra offer.

Ill try cancelling the trial and resign up through Telstra but I am not confident that it will work.

  • Looks like Post-Paid Only. From online telstra chat

Cherene Mae at 9:27, Mar 15:

Sorry to keep you waiting Scott.
Cherene Mae at 9:28, Mar 15:

It appears that Kayo sports subscription for $5/2 months is only valid for Post-paid customers.

    EDIT:

Scroll down on this link: https://www.telstra.com.au/tv-movies-music/kayo

"Note: Pre-paid and small business customers are not eligible"

    Maybe edit the heading???

  • Oy, what happen on 3rd month if we forget to unsubscribe? will it just automatically cancel or $25 per month bill slap on your face?

    • +1

$25 per month bill slap on your face

    • Just cancel straight after signing up.

      • Be careful, cause if you cancel straight away then you'll only get once month for $2.50, wait until your second $2.50 charge then you can cancel

        • -1

too much hassle; i need a PA to do this for me.

          • +1

@tempura: or just pay $25 like us Non-Telstra members and not worry about it. It's cheap enough :-)

            • @Borg: you don't belong in this community, get out! i mean it

  • +1

just signed up via my co-worker's telstra account, worked great! I already had a kayo account so set up a new one to ensure I get the deal. my CC shows $1 authorisation and $2.50 charge

    • So you already had a Kayo account that you were paying $25 per month for or a previous trial?

      • +1

Previous trial from last year. Wouldn't have made a difference if it was a full account, as all this offer needs is a new account.

  • Thanks OP. Don’t usually check my Thanks tab. Going to enjoy F1 and the Sailing GP rerun. Might sign on again next year for America’s Cup in Auckland.

  • Anyone know Kayo's phone number?

  • Did everyone use Telstra billing to sign up to this deal or CC?

  • So, had some luck with Kayo. Spoke to a great guy who understood my issue and was happy to refund the $25.

He said that I could use my old trial account to sign up but then said that I should have signed up by adding it to my Telstra bill. When I mentioned that it presented me with either adding to my Telstra bill or CC he then asked for a screenshot of me getting charged $25.

Very easy to deal with. They'll either refund the $25 or add a credit to my account and then take out $5.

    Fingers crossed it'll work.

  • Anyone know if there is a Kayo app yet for Xbox one? The internet didn't tell me. Apparently, it's coming, if not here yet…

    • +1

      Not yet.

    • +1

You can watch using edge browser on the xbox

      • Streaming stuff via apps is way harder than it should be!
Here's a challenge, try streaming ABC kids with either an apple TV (3rd gen), Xbox 360, Xbox one, or Panasonic smart TV… No good. Apparently Foxtel Now lets you stream it… But of all those systems only the Xbox one lets you get a Foxtel app, and its called Foxtel Play, and you can't stream ABC kids… And streaming from macbook or iphone to Apple TV has never worked well for me, glitchy AF. Kayo mightn't be as hard but I give up already lol.

  • +7

I think this might just be implemented on Kayo’s side with a voucher code “TLSTFF”
I’ve been able to apply this to an inactive Kayo account I used for a previous trial.
I can see 2 pending charges on my card from them for $1 and $2.50
And the invoice history in the billing screen in Kayo shows the $2.50 charge

Initially I tried to register using the deal link via Telstra, and a new Kayo account / email address. But my mobile number was linked to a Kayo account from a previous trial, so it wouldn’t let me verify a number linked to another account (I only have 1 Telstra post paid).
I had a look at the URL and could see a voucher code in there “TLSTFF”.
So I signed back into the account I’d use previously, and used it like any other voucher.

    • +2

That did the trick for me thanks dude!

Going thru the original Telstra link didn't let me apply it to my old kayo account so was going to create a new account. But tried this first and was able to apply it to my old account. Was charged 2.50 + pre auth amount of $1 on my credit card

      • "So I signed back into the account I’d use previously, and used it like any other voucher." How did you manage to enter it as an existing customer?

    • nice.

  • Anyway to play Kayo through Xbox?

  • If you only have a Teltra home phone can you get this deal?

  • Just wondering if anyone willing to go halves with the subscription, not a Telstra customer here so can't use this special deal :(

  • I am also charged 25$ instate of 5 $ . I have companied to my bank .
    They have registered complain.
I will get my money back

  • I am also charged 25$ instead of $5. I have a telstra account but i just went ahead wit this link and code. Is it worth spending time with kayo sports support or should i go directly to my bank with a complaint? also what should i tell my bank?

  • Anyone have an android tv (i have a sony one) and notice that the AFL is a bit jumpy? Im wondering if its to do with the app or the tv

  • Is it just me or have have the trial terms been updated? I swear in my account it said it had to be redeemed by mid april, i put a reminder in my calender for it.. now it says 30/4. Guess i'll wait a little longer.

  • I've had two billings @ $2.50 per month via Telstra (per the deal).
Next due billing (month 3) shows $5/pm (basic subscription - HD + 2 screens) and premium is $35/pm (HD + 3 screens) if I change/upgrade subscriptions - yes, up from $25 per the deal.
I'm going to stick with it for month 3 and see if I only get charged $5 via Telstra Billing as I might use it to play all day long in my reception room at work.
I haven't really used KAYO much but I am impressed with the 4way split screen where I had 3 live sports playing and 1 reply, all at the same time.

    • Replied to the wrong post.

    • Mine is displaying the same, have you been charged for your next month yet?
