Oh, to be back in late 2013 when I had returned from overseas and was trying to find a job! I went on two short-notice overseas trips that year.

    • seriously considering it and then saw $243 leaving on thursday

      • Same price for April as well 22th April to 28th

        And 20-28 it's 376

  • Damit just booked for january one way paid 285$ price drops to $220 😢😢

  • What aircraft do they use? is it the 737 max 8?

    • I think they have this model, but I recall seeing somewhere that Australia wont allow anyone to fly the max 8 at the moment.

    • they use 737-800 which is the earlier generation

    The worst flight ever!
    - The one meals they provide are worst I ever had! They should rather not offer it!
    - They do not provide any headphone for inflight entertainment. Pay $4 extra for cheap headphones.
    - They do not provide any blanket. Buy for $15 extra.
    - They do not serve tea or juice - pay extra.
    - Very less leg space and broken chairs.

I paid $1000 for return flights for 2. Been to Bali from 6/03 to 12/03 this month. Wont ever use Melindo again!

But what better option you have , jetstar and virgin almost on par but expensive

      • jetstar use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

        • +1

but compare seats , Melindo has extra 1 inch seat pitch , you would be more cramped in bigger flight

      • You may be right. I was expecting a little more for that price.

The good point of flight are:
        - More weight 25+7 Kg
        - Direct Flight under 6 hours.

For less than $300 who cares. Take a sleeping tablet and chill.

      • I paid in excess of AUD 500 pp hence the expectations.

Sounds like you should have booked a full service carrier if you were expecting full service.

Interesting! I had pretty much the exact opposite experience with them, Brisbane to bali rtn in Oct last year.
Plus with the included 25kg baggage allowance and free surfboards, it was the cheapest by far.

Have their inclusions and standards really dropped so much in so short a time?

If so, Damm! I was looking forward to using them again this Oct.

      • +1

I used them as well last year and everything was included. But looking on their website it is like a low cost airline now - pay for everything!
Guess I’ll stick with Jetstar, they have a sale on now

Malindo Air = Lion Air :)
Google Lion Air and you'll get the point.

  • How much are bags? You REALLY don't want to know!

    20kg Bag each way -

    Base Fare
    AUD
    59.00

    Taxes & Fees
    AUD
    181.02

    Baggage
    AUD
    428.70

    • it's bali.

you only need jocks, tshirts, shorts, thongs, sunscreen, hat, toothbrush + toothpaste - only carry-on is required

    • I had 25 kg check-in + 7 Kg carry on! That was the best part of the flight.

You are mental if you fly Malindo. Owned by Lion Air (yes, THAT lion air), terrible safety record, poor standards (you’ll see for yourself if you take the punt). Check out pprune (professional pilots forum) if you need any more convincing as to just how unsafe they are.

    • You are mental if you fly Malindo.

Is that "mental" as in canny or smart?

I have flown with them (Malindo) a few times - almost full service for the price of a LCC. Way ahead of Jetstar and AirAsia.

      • Not talking about the service. Couldn’t care less. The pilots up front on the other hand… (if you don’t believe me, go down to one of the big flight training schools here in Aus and ask the instructors what they think of these airlines cadets’ they instruct…)

        • yeah, but do we even need pilots?
