Jacked up normal price, they're $80 on ebay ! (less with codes)

  • Also good as a security camera on rural properties.

    • How? A security camera that records back to a central NVR that can alert you and records versus this which is tied to a tree, can't alert you and records to itself and requires manual checking.

      • You can't run PoE from your house to every part of a 5000 acre property.

You might not catch then in the act but at least you might catch them. Good if you think someone is snooping around or stealing your fuel.

        • You can't run PoE from your house to every part of a 5000 acre property.

Sure but you can use other methods to get cameras around the property (solar and point to point links or cheap pre-terminated fibre) but what I'm saying is that I would not call this camera security as all it does is give you photos that may or may not identify the person.

It has a specific application but only identifying (maybe) the person after they have committed the act.

A 3G or 4G version with solar would be a better solution if there is mobile coverage.

          • @Maverick-au: Unless you employ a full-time security guard to monitor cameras then every camera system only provides footage after the incident.
Farmers don't sit around watching motion alerts on their cows all day.

@joelmuzz: No, that's not the case at all. Cameras have all sorts of features now including the ability to draw virtual lines and detect movement in one or both directions, unusual movement modes, people modes, face and number plate recognition and so forth so your can set up immediate push alerts when something occurs out of the ordinary.

I get alerts from my system at home if anything occurs that is unusual not just movement alerts that used to be the only option.

  • Better off with the T70 on Ebay for $85
