Nikon Z7 on sale at Camera House. This is the best price I have seen for this camera from an official Ozzie distributor. Effectively $3887 through Cashback sites.

They also have the Nikon Z7 with Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S & FTZ Adapter for $4999.

Edit: Also just saw this deal is available through Digital Camera Warehouse as well. Though you cannot get the extra 2.8% off from Cashrewards or Shopback that is available with Camera House.

I think they finally realised how much of a rip off the usual price is compare the Sony A7r3

    • It's still a rippoff

Where there’s a Nikon post, there’s a Sony fanbot. Knew it wouldn’t take long. You do realise the A7r3 was $4999 when it was released in 2017 and is now $4299 at Sony, plus their high end glass is up there in price too. Very comparable to Nikon and Canon.

Seems you are the fanboy here. The camera cost substantially is more than the competition and has generally worse performance

How do you figure I’m a fan and why assume i’m a boy? I just came to Ozbargain to post a good deal, which this is. Substantially more…. not where I’ve seen, please do post these great deals you speak of. Performance is relative to your needs and both cameras are fantastic from what i’ve seen. Generally worse is a pretty broad statement and meaningless as each has their strengths.

It seems Z6 is the more practical choice for most users.

Not to say mirrorless cameras don't produce high quality photos, but I struggle to see the points of it.

The question is not specific to camera manufacturers:

    • Is it cheaper? No
    • Is it smaller? Only the body, negligible when mounted with pro lenses
    • Is it lighter? Only the body, negligible when mounted with pro lenses
    • More lens options? No
    • Cheaper lenses? No
    • Longer battery/use? No

Perhaps the only thing that stands out for mirrorless is videography.

    • Said the same things for years but being able to see real time adjustments in the EVF has been revelatory. A live histogram and peaking has changed the way I shoot. I understand where you're coming from but once you've made the switch there's no going back.

Having said the above, was at a Nikon event last week, they were handing out vouchers for:

    • $300 off Z7
    • $200 off Z6
    • $200 off 50/f1.8, 35/f1.8, 14-30/f4

Played around with Z6 and Z7 for a couple of hours using both native lenses and FTZ adapter, results were amazing. Tempted to switch from D810 to Z6.

    • Any chance you got a spares voucher for lenses?

        Voucher conditions:

        • Offer is only valid until 19 March 2019.
        • Strictly one voucher per use.
        • Not to be used in conjunction with any other Nikon promotions or offers.
        • Voucher must be forfeited to the retailer upon redemption.

Short usage date and physical voucher is required. Happy to give you the voucher tomorrow if you are in the Sydney CBD.

        • Melbourne :(

          Thanks anyway.
