Anyone who knows about these Seiko Presage lines, would know what nice watches they are for the price?

  • If this was blue or red or brown i'd have already bought it, this one is bit plain :'( I suspect this price is in response to shiels having it for $329.

    • If it was the old cocktail time….

  • +2

The new Cocktail Time…just worse than the old one. Seiko downgraded the movement, replaced the sapphire with Hardlex and that 'Presage' font is fugly. I'd jump up a level personally.

I have the original cocktail time and it's Hardlex on the face

      • True, I think you've reminded me of that before. I certainly prefer the original.

It seems as though Seiko is hell bent on down grading their whole mid tier. I'd go for a SARX personally. With the downgrade, I think there are Swiss players offering offering better value with sapphire, ETA or Sellita.

        • Just wanted to thank you for all your contributions to ozbargain :-).

      • How do you find the quality of the Hardlex - do they scratch easily?

        • +1

I mainly wear it in an office / computer work, so no scratches for me. I'm usually not the kind to scratch my watch though and don't wear it for sports etc. Everyday Carry is fine.

        • Hardlex is softer than sapphire, but less brittle. So, I guess you could get some scratches if you are not careful, but they may buff out. Just keep it for Cocktail time and be careful around crystal tumblers….

Oh man they really killed the cocktail time. The original sarb065 was a gem. This is downright ugly with inferior movement.

    • Lmao it’s seiko. They’ll bring it back. Have you seen the blue alpinist? Discontinued lmao

    • I wasn't even aware there was an older one with the 6r15 thanks for the info, only ever seen the new ones with"presage". What movement is in the new ones with the power reserve?

      • New ones are based on a newer movement. Costs were cut for the new 4R35. Power reserve is also lower than the previous 6R15, which had 50 hours. The 4R35 only has 41 hours.

  • This watch is pretty cheap, but I feel like its design reflects the price too, and really cheapens the "Presage" nomenclature.

  • It is even cheaper now, only $299 look here
