I Want to Buy Samsung Galaxy S10 - Discouraged by Lack of Deals?

Hi,

I want to buy a new S10. I missed out on the preorder deals (semi-broke my S7 very recently) and I had a friend who got like a S10 + Google Home + Galaxy Buds thrown in. So now that these deals aren't available I feel like my Ozbargain instincts are kicking in and I am not willing to buy it when I know that mere days ago there was a much better deal available.

Does anyone else feel this way (in general, I feel like this all the time about purchases)? Are there any deals? Haha.

Yeah I feel this way often, especially if I miss something (sometimes when the deal was only on for a few minutes). Usually I ask myself about its worth though, for example if I wanted it right now, is it worth paying an extra $50, what about $70 etc. The amount depends on the person (how much you're able to give away). Sometimes it just helps me not splurge though, for example I won't buy a PS4 Pro because of that cheap amazon deal ages back.

Truth be told, we really don't need
any of this stuff at all.. so, just
wait a year or 2, & prices will drop
…saving you heaps to spend on
Real Life(tm) OR - better - to invest
for your retirement, so you can
take Cat Food OFF your menu.. ;~)

      PS Cf:

      • The Barefoot Investor [for Families]

      (It's Best & likely Free fr Audible.com
      in the Audio-Book version)

  • If you think a better deal will come along then you may not end up buying anything - because a better will always come along ;)

Buy with what you feel is the "right deal" for you at the time, remember in life - we do not deliberately make poor decisions ;)

  • Plus, it's only recently been released - wait a little while and the deals will come. The PS4 Pro Amazon deal wasn't on release day :)

Usually, these things drop in price within a year, how about purchasing it now on a credit card that offers price protection (like 28 degrees) and claim any price drops as they come down.

When I last broke my phone (S4) I bought the S7 for around $950, but managed to get it for around 600ish as the price had dropped in 6 months by doing this. The policy with 28 degrees has since changed and went up from 6 months to 12 months and the price drops can happen at any Australian retailer including those on ebay with buy it now.

    • This.

I felt exactly like you and I looked into the 28 degrees card and got it straight away. It has no points rewards but if you use it only for these kind of purchases it makes so much more sense.

I also broke my s7 and was going to buy the s9 but the price difference with the s10 is not that big. I just received the 28 degrees card today and I'm going to buy it straight away, so I'll stop constantly monitoring for deals. In a year's time it will have probably dropped around the 800$ mark and then I'll claim the price protection

Wait for the S11 and grab a bargain on the S10

Seriously we spend so much time splitting hairs over getting the best deal, where we might wait an extra few months just for a couple of extra % off. Is it really important to get a few bucks off? Or to get something that will improve your everyday life?

  • Awesome deal if you are eligible

    • Yes I saw this and know someone eligible but not very interested in the e version

really? you are missing out on a lot, type samsung galaxy s10e in youtube and see what the best reviewers say. its an awersome phone in a better price

The s10e is not as bad as people seem to perceive them.

  • Doesn't really need a deal, my monthly plan is actually less than the one for my S8 which just ended, so it already feels like a deal. I wouldn't have bought the galaxy buds separately if they didn't come with it though, but they will be useful to me.

  • Try price matching with Officeworks as they usually accept cheaper prices on other websites and beat it by an extra 5%

Knowing that you can get 20% off with Samsung Enhanced Partner Program I would feel that I'm paying extra if I cannot get the lowest "marketed" price.

I love a great deal and would prefer to wait to get a great price rather than buying the newest once it's out.

How about order the G7 ThinQ tonight from Mobileciti for $541.62, use it for 6 months until there's a good deal on S10 and then sell your G7 for ~$400.

  • The lack of deals on the S10 series has been really bugging me too!
You can get them for preorder pricing in some places but you don't really get them from a seller with a decent warranty.

  • I’ve got a EPP deal available for any tales on the classified section. S10 512gb at $1200

  • Hi all. I am wondering if anyone has access to the EPP deals for Samsung store? I am looking to but a Galaxy s10 from there but can't access the deal they have. I have joined Westpac, got their cc and still couldn't access the deal. I have had nothing but drama to get this deal and just really need a new phone.

If anyone has access to the EPP store and would like to allow me to use their email address to get the deal it would be very appreciated!!

    Thanks heaps :-)
