Not a bad little Grinder for light-medium duty work. Possibly also a deleted line as they may be starting to slowly clear out the 'brushed' items that now have 'affordable' Brushless alternatives. Not sure, just speculating. I have both versions and yeah, both are great but of course the Brushless has the lead.

      Good assumption.
I'm on the Ryobi one+ platform and the cost/performance/warranty of the brushless tools is very impressive

Looks like the angle grinder is this one:

Item no. 0048815 if you want to check your local store. None near me in Brissie sadly.

Might mean the return of Angle Grinder Man?

    Great price for the grinder.

The kit was marked as 'Clearance' at the Hawthorn Bunnings for $80.00 on the weekend.

  • Damn.. wish I was in Vic. That's a bargain! Pretty sure the charger and battery together would cost more than this =/

  • There were 10 of these at Mentone this morning

    • $40 or $80? Saw plenty of these at Fountain Gate as well for $80

        $50

        • Yeah I'm probably going to take this back. This is literally an angle grinder only. The guard won't function with a cutting blade attached. Grinding is on the light side too. Its probably more suited to a wire cup really.

I'll charge it up to full and give it a second try, but its rather disapointing even for 50 dollars.

          • @outlander: What are you trying to use it for outlander? Granted, I haven't put the guard on either of mine but they both work well for the general cutting I need eg. trimming off old nails & screws in 100+ year old hardwood during renovations & cutting steel pipe & angle etc. Obviously not as fast as a 240V model but still ample for my needs.

@SteveAndBelle: I tried it with a full charge and a little more force, and it does work alright. Still a little annoyed about the guard though. Might look for a full face mask to wear so if the blade breaks I don't turn into a pin cushion.
And the battery design makes it so it falls forward if you try and stand it up.

It does a decent job for $50
