  • Looking at this for a Yoga 920….is this any good? I saw the other Anker one for nearly a $100 on here yesterday

    • Could you give me a link? I can't find it but I want to our base an Anker powerbank

  • Assuming this has more than enough juice to power a surface pro 3/4?

If it's as good as the specs say with 60w output and USB PD it's got enough power to charge pretty much most consumers devices. Something like the xps 15 it would charge but wouldn't be super efficient.

    • +2

Yep it charges anything and everything except the 95W USB-C PD laptops. Even 65W are fine

Has anyone had experience with Kogan Powerbanks? Specs look impressive but I'm not sure if they are high quality or not.

  • I'd love to get some feedback from others who have bought this model. I have a macbook pro 13" and a switch which would both benefit from having a usb-c powerbank but i'm hesitant to buy Kogan based on past reputation.

That being said, this looks like the best spec'ed model going round.

Nothing else in this price range powers 60w

I bought this a few months ago when it was a similar price to use on my Macbook Pro 13 Touch Bar and works great. I wish they had a 20000mAh version though because this is pretty chunky to carry around sometimes.

i'm surprised nobody has mentioned the amount of s**t spam they send in 1 night.

Since putting my order in for Dick Smith, I think there was 4 emails by morning with spammy buy this and this and this…unsubscribed this morning…Kogan is no different - same platform setup it seems.

  • How long does it take to charge this? Mine has been sitting on two (or 1 steady light and 2 blinking) for a while now….

    • It's fully charged, just takes a million years lol:P

    • Depends on what wattage input you are giving it, it can take 45W max (USB C PD) which is roughly 4-5hrs from 0 - 100. If you charge it at 5W it takes around 10 - 12 hrs. At 2 lights it should mean >=50% battery level.

Use the following formula to calculate rough estimates:
Ah of battery * maximum voltage input / wattage input

For instance for this battery at 26800 mAh = 26.8 Ah, 3.6V is the maximum voltage, i calculated this at 45W,18W and 5W
      26.83.6/45 = 2.144 hr
      26.8
      3.6/18 = 5.36 hr
      26.8*3.6/5 = 19.269 hr

Bear in mind this assumes a linear charging curve which in reality it is not, it charges faster from 0-80% and takes substantially longer from 80-100%. Take the time above to estimate how long it will take to charge to 80-90% and add in another 15% to the time to get time for full charge

      • I currently have only QC chargers that was my issue…..
