The select is identical to the EVO Plus according to this source. The select is just the Amazon exclusive.

Your link is to an unsupported claim, and not a test.
The Select used to be a lower class card than the EVO plus.
It would make sense if they were the same card now tho. But you need to find an actual test or performance on both cards by the same tester.

Regardless, how is this a bargain compared to the same or much cheaper price for local stock?

$58+ local vs $63 imported. Where is the bargain?

Do you own research. Post your findings.

        • @b00r0wa No, I sold it all. What findings.

They used to be different cards. Maybe the random person from nowhere's guess is now correct.

        • haha

Sorry I'll look for a systematic peer reviewed study this afternoon.

@WhiskeyBurn, Just find where the read and write speeds of the same size cards from each branding have been tested. A couple of years ago they were, different cards, but could be the same now. But not because someone randomly speculates they are without performing any sort of testing or specification comparison.

Point is, why pay an extra $5 over local stock for what is not claimed to be a better specified card in the first place?

          • @Major Mess:

Just find where the read and write speeds of the same size cards

If you know exactly what it should look like, why ask other people to do the legwork?

            • @twocsies: @twocsies Because I am not making the claim. I have bought known cards locally.
What in the world is your point in arguing over something you haven't verified?

  • I wonder if phones generally support 512GB when they support 256GB microsd card

    • Yes.

  • Edit: Nevermind.

  • I assume this would be suitable for Nintendo Switch?

    • Sure. It doesn't really benefit from higher card speeds.

      • Why not?

        • Just because you buy faster memory doesn't mean the hardware has the ability to use it. For the Switch see this.

    • Yes, I have mine running with this card.

Red normally goes faster …. :D

      Green runs cooler

  • Delivery time around two weeks :(

  • Thank you, got one

  • I was thinking about grabbing this for my gopro, but unfortunately it is too large and not supported:

    • Interesting. I'm using the exact same card above for my Hero 6. Haven't noticed any issues?? I used it extensively over Europe and recorded a crap tonne of hours. I'm no video editor, just for good memories. I decided to google Hero 6 SD capacity and sure enough 128 is the listed recommended size, news to me! Based on my experience with the above card it works for me with no issues based on my own experience.

I will buy a couple more as it appears memory cards have really dropped in recent times, thank you OP!

I picked up my original 2 from Amazon US about about 12 months ago for roughly 99USD.

    • I put a 256GB Evo Plus in my Hero 7 Black and it's been working without a hitch.

  • Anyone used one of these for a raspberry pi or ps1 classic?

    • From memory the default noobs install only supports up to 32GB. It is doable and requires a little configuration work.
Generally memory card limitations have been a software/OS limit.

Do some Googling and you will soon find the details on the rpi site and many other places.

      • Well I actually have two setups. A 3b pi with a 128gb card and a newer 3b+ with a 32gb card but was just wondering if anyone had personally used one of these cards with them too actually.

As for ps1 classic they seem to be hit and miss with alot of flash drives and cards at the moment. I have a 128gb setup already but wanted to get a even bigger one done.

  • Interesting this post got more upvotes when the EVOplus was a little cheaper posted few weeks before this?
