Appliance Central still has it for $1699 + $55 Delivery !!

Why would you pay $125 more?

        • EBAY or direct?

I like the look of the 82" version.

        • +3

To pick it up from a store lol, who wouldn't want to get it from an actual store right away

          • +4

@MEGASERVE: Saving $125 and the hassle of transporting a 75" inch TV, I would rather have it delivered. I have gone thro the experience of getting a 65" oled delivered(for free) and no way I would want to go pick it up myself.

Besides if u want to pick it up, the HN link below listed by an other person is still better. With the GC.

    Yup noted have been cheaper.
    Just thought to post.

  • wonder how this stacks up against the latest TCL 75" which is also at Costco (and others).

    • +4

Should stack up against it ok, but would not recommend stacking on top of.

Places Ads on the Home Screen, you can't disable
Had an older Samsung flat screen TV. Loved it. Bought this new TV, and there are ADS on the home screen. I love it when i spend hundreds of dollars on something to be shown ads which I can't disable. To have pre-installed apps which I can't delete. Unbelievable. Will probably return tomorrow, but not before writing a terrible review anywhere I can find.

He is correct according to RTINGS.com

      Ads
      Yes
      Opt-out
      No
      Suggested Content in Home
      Yes
      Opt-out of Suggested Content
      No

Like all Samsung TVs, there are ads. There is no option to disable them or to opt-out of ad tracking. During our testing there were ads, but we were unable to take a picture of them. They appear similar to the ads seen on the NU8000

On a quick google search it appears you can disable them..

Someone with a nu7100 will have to confirm if it works

      • Glad I found this out now. Do all 'smart' TVs do this or just Samsung?

        • +1

My Panasonic and LG don't have adds.

If you're considering a smart TV, I recommend you also consider a dumb TV with an Android box plugged in.

A couple of years ago, there were complaints when YouTube changed all their videos from Flash to a newer video format (HTML5), and lots of people found that their smart TV would no longer work with YouTube, and there was no way to upgrade the TV.

If you have a dumb TV with an Android box plugged in, or maybe a Raspberry Pi running Kodi or similar, you have a far better chance of upgrading. Even if you can't upgrade the box for some reason, you can replace it entirely for $50-100.

The only downside is that you'll have two remote controls, and may need a bit of technical skill. Not much, there are plenty of YouTube videos that will walk you through the process.

If your Android box doesn't come with a remote control, there are plenty of nice keyboards like the Logitech K400R, and plenty of smaller keyboards that you can choose from.
