    • was thinking the same thing.

    • +3

      Hisense 75".

          • 200 motion rate
          • Extra USB port
          • TV includes handles at the back for easy lifting and to put cords around
          • Wide color gamut
          • Better color volume, due to the wide color gamut
          • Much better motion handling
          • Can remove judder
          • DTS audio passthrough
          • No ads lol, cannot disable ads on Samsung

Keeping an eye out for a nice new 65 or 75 TV and this price is really hard to not bite the bullet, especially the 75 inch

    • +1

That model has been quite a bit cheaper before at $1072…. That's why I didn't bother listing it.

      • -4

        Different series

        • Exactly the same models mate. Check the model codes. Even with the $150 e gift card, it's $130 more than the lowest price!

          • -3

@aspirepranesh: Mate the post is series 8 and these two are 7.
What are you looking at that?…

            • @MatthewSoul: Firbi's link is to the Series 7 and subsequent comments refer to that…

            • @MatthewSoul: Your initial reply was to my comment mate, not Firbi's comment :) Maybe you meant to reply to him.

Firbi are I are talking about the same model 7, which has nothing to do with my listing as my listing has model 8 as you mentioned.

    • Series is different mate
Harvey its Samsung 65-inch NU7100 4K Ultra HD LED LCD Smart TV-1495(150 coupon as well)
Ebay- UA65NU8000WXXY Samsung 65inch UHD SMART LED TV - $1,539.00

can anyone please recommend which is better

      • +2

Nu8000 is much better for what seems to be a 200 dollar difference, just remember that if you need to plug in sound get one with hdmi arc or else you will need multiple remotes

        • NU8000 has HDMI ARC right?

          • @JohnyEnglish: Yeah arc, optical and 2 strange combined ports for "components". No direct rca or headphone jack so make sure you have a receiver or sound bar if you want better sound.

Note: jbhifi have the 65" nu8000 on for $15 more so its probably easier all around to get it from them

  • Can someone please comment on the 55NU8000 as I am not sure of getting this or the Hisense 55P7

    • +2

I have the UA65NU8000WXXY and i can tell youit's great tv. It also has the samsung smart remote which controls everything. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending it.

    • +2

The NU8000 is significantly better than the P7. Much better HDR being a standout as well as lower input lag and gaming features.

    • Can add my recommendation as well, have had it for some 4 months now and it is a beautiful TV.

  • +5

I bought the Samsung UA75NU7100WXXY 75" 2 weeks ago and have to say its very underwhelming. My Samsung smart TV from 2011 (which still works) has better picture/sound quality all round. Even after all the reviews and inspections in stores (which led to the purchase), you'd think fast forward into the future into 2018/2019, the TV picture/sound quality would improve on it's earlier model! :(

If I could, I would travel back 2 weeks and get the UA65NU8000WXXY 65" you just posted.

    • Thanks think I'll wait for the Hisense P7 or P8 to go on sale.

      • I don't have one but unlike the N7, the reviews for the P7 aren't great, particularly regarding blacks/local dimming. Reviews for this Series 8 Samsung seem a bit better.

        • +1

Bought a 75P7 recently and very happy with the picture quality even during day time.

    • Yeh saw them in Costco
Looked very ordinary compared to others at the same price point. Wonder why given they should have their retail mode video cycling to represent the best possible image?

    • Exactly this! It's a real shame. My first plasma was and is the best quality TV I've ever had.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/6918826/

      • +1

wait til u get oled :D

      • I have a 60" LCD Plasma from 2011, I am dreading the day it dies as it's an amazing TV. Think I'll have to go directly to OLED when it does die though

    • +1

Yea, it is their base model. =(

    • The NU7100 is a budget model. Okay for smaller sizes but for 75" not great

  • I think Hisense P7 definitly has better PQ and features as local dimming has an edge, But hisense processor can be slow sometimes. plus p7 is $300 cheaper (in deals) compare to samsung 8000, so its tough call. I am in the same group P7 vs 8000. lol

    • +2

NU8000 also has local dimming and is twice as bright in HDR. The Samsung has better black uniformity, lower input lag and an array of gaming related features not found on the Hisense.

      • Aplogies, yes samsung 800 has local dimming, my bad. Now i am wondering does Hisense p7 has any edge over samsung 8000 apart from pricing? is it worth paying $300 on top to go to samsung 8000?

        • Yes definitely.

        • The local dimming on the P7 has performed poorly in reviews. The Hisense "Elite Backlight" is actually edge lit so that would explain it.

        • Where will I find 55P7 for $699 (999-300)?

        • The 8000, is definitely a better tv from my experience.

    • +1

You're thinking of the 7100, not the 8000.
8000 is a good panel with more features. Should be in the same ball-park as the P7.

  • +1

P7 PQ is excellent once you move from the default pic settings and optimise local contrast and bl dimming. Blacks are great..Sound quality on the other hand is terrible no matter what adjustments you make!!! Fortunately I've always got my sound system activated…

  • If your not home to collect the TV in person, does the Appliance Central courier return the TV to their local (Brisbane) warehouse or depot for collection?

    • Would reckon so. Also in our case with the 75P7 only the driver was there so for a large telly you'll definitely need to help out to make sure it's not dragged and thrown around. Btw the courier they use is Hunter Express.

  • +1

Here's a very detailed comparison between the 8000 and the 7100:
    https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-nu8000-vs-sa…

And the 8000 vs the P7's American cousin:
    https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-nu8000-vs-hi…

The above shows the P7 sits between the NU7100 and the NU8000.

    • +1

Is that hisense in comparison, exactly same as P7?

I couldnt find any comparison 8000 Vs P7

      • Not exactly. But very similar. Hence "cousin".

  • I waited long for this NU8000 sale, too bad I pulled the trigger on P7 three weeks ago.

    • I think P7 is better buy, it has better local dimming compare to 8000, and direct led vs edge led, and 200Hz motion rate.

      • 8000 is much better for gamers though with better input lag and has better colour gamut and grey uniformity. Depends what you're after. Both very good TVs.

    • +1

P7 is pretty damn good. Have a play around with the picture settings 4K content especially looks amazing.

These are the picture settings I've settled on for now:

      Standard
      Brightness 50
      Contrast 50
      Colour Saturation 40
      Sharpness 10
      Rest unchanged except:
Backlight Dimming and Adaptive Contrast Medium
      Cool Temp
      Smooth Motion
      Gamma 2.4
      Colour Native

For FTA might need to turn down the brightness and contrast because the white backgrounds (ads etc) are very bright at least on the panel we have.

  • I have been looking at both NU7100 and NU8000 65" models and cannot decide because of the $200 price difference and the delivery process of Appliance Central. Apparently they send it back to the warehouse if nobody is at home?

Is there a massive difference between the two models?

  • -1

The LG super uhd should be better as it has nanocell same as quantum dot just different name and is cheaper than other brands.

    • What LG model are you comparing it to?

      • There's only one lg model on the list.

  • what would be the better grab between the 50" Hisense P6 (or p7) and the 49" samsung 7100.

    • +2

      8000 > P7 > P6 > 7100

  • Any of these any good for watching sports? Ghosting and refresh rates? Ta

  • +1

Thanks so much for the post OP!!! I had got this last week from the Good Guys for $1800. Just claimed the price guarantee, yay!! :)
The staff said lot of people are claiming it today.

    • +1

How did good guys doid price claim for appliance central ebay price?

    • I tried price match with Jb hifi but they dont do it with an ebay store. Do the good guys do it easily?

  • I'm curious as to why the 65" is so popular over the 55" (in the NU8000 series). Other than the size, I assume everything else is the same, right?

I'm looking at the 55" for the bedroom - I think 65" is going to be way too big. And it's $500 less.

    • If youre spending more on better panel youre likely to also be happy spending more for bigger size.

  • Help? hisense 65" P7 or Samsung 65" U8000?

    • Nu8000 better get the LG super uhd for less with nanocell technology same as Samsung quantum dot.

  • +1

Just got from Harvey Norman for $1580 picked up with a $150 Feb gift card.

It was gonna be $1,589.00 here at appliance central and trying to organise deliver during working hours was gonna be hard.

    • You got NU7100 or NU8000 mate?

    • Got the same deal. Thanks much!!

      • +1

        Ahh good to hear! Enjoy!!

    • Interested when you were in HN, did you just say that Appliance Central could do it for 1589 delivered and they just dropped the price for you?

      • I was at HN and that store was having a birthday sale at that time but nowhere close to appliance central.

Some young kid (punk) comes up to me and I said could you match, he said we don't match online or just any store online but needs to be a physical store. I said thanks and just walked around looking at the hisense as well. Asked him if it came with a gift card at the price they had, he said no.

An older guy (nice guy) came up and i asked the same question and he said what price have you got there, I told him, enters it on computer and said I'll do it for 1580. I didn't ask for a gift card assuming it didn't, but he said it comes with a gift card so I was surprised!

  • How do you know if a tv has HDR

  • Any reason why they are not shipping to Tasmania !??

  • Managed to get the Samsung UA65NU8000W 65" for $1430.40 pickup from VideoPro with their 20% off ebay code (if you want shipping it's an extra $77). Absolute bargain at $1430.40 though, don't think you can get any better :)
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-65-UA65NU8000W-Series-8-…

    • damn feel cheated but i guess delivery would be 1507 and i bought for 1580 (+$150 gift card)

      • You did well though to get a $150 gift card too, good deal! I'm just lucky I live in Brisbane to save on the pickup costs haha

        • +1

I looked again and videopro doesn't ship to Perth. That made me feel like as least I didn't fail as an ozbargainer… Haha

  • Just picked up the nu8000 from jbhifi this afternoon. Got them to price match video pro and than beat it by $~50. Ended up paying $1380 pick up. Very happy.

    • Now I'm jealous

    • I just went to Jb hi fi and they refused on the basis that they don’t match videopro stores or ebay prices.
      Would you have a reciept?

      • Same, then walked over the road to The Good Guys. They're delivering tomorrow for a toat price of $1501. Cant complain.

        • oh that's great! jb-hi fi said the best they can do is $1555 with delivery, and 1 yr extra warranty

  • Will post later the receipt

    • If you could that would be great - thanks

  • Also went to a couple of JB Hi fis in the Shire and L'pool, and they flats refused to price match with the ebay stores. One of the sales dudes encouraged me to go for the eBay sale as it was "too good to be true" according to him. Pulled the pin on the Samsung UA65NU8000WXXY 65" 4K UHD Smart LED TV yesterday and it got delivered today…
