Trying hard not to pull the pin..
I want QLED…. But… This is damn good price

    • -1

Same QLED almost double the price.

    • +3

      I want OLED….. but…. this is way way cheaper…..

    • I bought 65" Q6FN for $1705 on this deal but at this price, I would had rather gone for NU7100 instead.

      • +1

Its a way better panel with better HDR and motion processing I would be happy with that :)

        • I know that already and I really like the voice remote of Q6….but this price….its tempting.

But somehow your comment makes me feel a little better now.

          • @dealhunter52: Yup, I know how you feel… bought my Q6 from the same deal :) great tv - but 700 bucks could have been spend in so many other ways…

            • @jackwilk: more like $500 something, don't forget delivery….I picked up mine from local Binglee store for free.

          • +6

@dealhunter52: Ex JB telly salesman of 5 years trust me you made the right choice, I've stared at panels for way too long every year 😂 quality over price is always the best choice especially if you are going to watch it for the next 5-10 years !

            • @solidussnake: assuming that it would last 10 years

most TVs die way too early nowadays..

              • +1

@pinkybrain: I purchased the first led samsung the super thin one 46" 100hz non smart etc its been pulled off a shelf onto an oil heater transported between 5 houses and still going strong (i think it was ips back then) but these days its very hit and miss. I Have a 65KS8000 with the one connect box and every now and again it tells me to plug the cable in (when its in) which is worrying but other than that its been great and I know if I have any problems for at least 7ish years ACL will cover me through with JB from experience.

(Have seen a 3.5k FHD 55" refunded after 7 years lol)

            • @solidussnake: Hi solidussnake, yeah I know you are right thanks - I feel much better now :) but sometimes ozbargain in me takes over….

            • @solidussnake: You mean it will last that long?

I have 6 big screen TV's. 1 is 12 years old (Hitachi), the other is a Panasonic 10 Years old, the other Panasonic VT series is 6 years old.

The other (broken) 3 are 2 x LG's (1 x Plasma, 1 x LCD) and a TCL which are all broken outside of warranty.

        • If this has worse motion handling than the q7 qled it would be suicide inducing.

I've been recommending people go the Sony 9000 unless it's for a gaming tv in which case qled is my recommendation.

      • +4

Eh, i bought a Sony 60" 6700XE or something for $900 from a deal last year with 250+ upvotes and I really wish I had spent twice as much for a better quality TV. Every time I use the TV, i notice some aspect of the shitty image quality that ruins the immersion.

        • +2

That is why I always tell people spend a bit more for a good TV because you will use it almost everyday at least several year.

Of course if you can afford

    • Take the NU8000, it is way better than this model. Check the reviews.

      • Is it $516 better?

        • Check the reviews and decide for yourself :)

  • +7

    Want 75"……….

    • +1

      username checks out

    • +1

Given the prices on the smaller ones now, it's only a matter of time until the 75" drops. I want one too

  • Cheapest so far !

  • -6

I have the 65" of this. And personally, I'd prefer a Kogan 65" and save myself $300-400~

    • Seriously? I have a Kogan 55" TV and the picture quality aint that good but I wasn't willing to pay over 1K for a brand name TV near the end of 2017

      • I think with Kogan (and many of the cheapies) it can be hit and miss. I must've got lucky

      • +1

it depends on how much you care, kogan tv's can look pretty nice if you play around with the settings to get it right for your area but not as good as a tv you'd spend 2-3x as much on of course. my kogan tv does just fine for $389 i paid for it.

        • -6

There's always one or two butt hurt people who get offended that I think my Kogan 4k TV is better than my Samsung 4K TV (Based on cost and quality)

          • @Danstar:

The 4K panels are built by either Samsung or LG, and you can expect decent image quality in our experience of Kogan's TVs: roughly equivalent to a last-generation TV from either one of those tier-one manufacturers.

theres nothing wrong with this and saving a few hundred dollars to get a bit less quality over a samsung 4k won't make much difference unless you are truly anal about tv quality. these people are idiots for knocking kogan tvs.

            • -1

              @HKS: LOL

They're coming out in their droves now

It's ok guys, you spent thousands on a TV and there are people getting the same experience and feeling from a TV they saved thousands of dollars on compared to you ;) ;)

    • 55" of this Nu7100 I meant

  • -1

After postage you may be better off just going JB its on sale there too.

    • +5

Maybe im doing something wrong, but it shows $1245 + $59 delivery at JB

      • Go in store and get JB to price match? They did this for me recently :)

      • JB showed as pick up for me and this post shows $100 postage to QLD.

  • Good price, I'm beginning to regret I paid 1700 for the QLED back in December…

    • +3

I paid 1700 for the QLED back in December…

      That is a lot better.

      • Only if we could see the future….

    • Any reason? I know of friends who are very happy with the Q6 and $1700 is a steal!

      • Hey don't get me wrong - very happy with my Q6, just not sure if it's worth 700 bucks extra.

    • +1

QLED is a lot better. I got Samsung Q7 65 for 2600. Now it is plus 3k

    • +2

      You have to be crazy!
This TV is an entry level and doesn't come close to the QLED.

  • Hisense P7 or this?

    • +1

Hisense P7 for sure. Better tech behind the Hisense with 200Hz too.

      • Hisense P7 for sure.

The HN free upgrade was the best deal.

  • +1

This is a good deal… must resist.

  • How does this compared to the other deal LG 60-Inch UK62 4K UHD $895 (AmEx $745), besides the 5" smaller on the other deal, but it's like $350 cheaper?

  • Now I'm thinking twice between this one and NU8000. The price is too good to resist :(

    • +1

This NU7100 model isn't the best and you can find reviews about this. The model NU8000 is way better than this.

      • Thanks for the reassurance. I'll wait for the NU8000 price to drop a wee more.

  • I'm waiting for 75" QLED FLAD HDR at $2990

    • Do you mean FALD? In other words the Q9? In other words you’re waiting for a $7999 TV to hit a third of its price? Good luck buddy.

      • How about year and half?
        Hisense?

  • good price but very old model.

    • +2

This was released last April, the same as every other Samsung model out now. What you mean is it’s low specced.

  • There is also the 75" version for $1,832 + delivery.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/273660524810
    Is that a good price?

    • $1,700 including delivery, then that's a good price.

  • iTunes app will be accessible on this TV through firmware update I believe?

  • Worry about this mob in terms of warranty, they dont even reply back to Ebay messages…
Similar other users on here say the same, terrible communications

    • Also worried about the same.

    • I bought this model from these guys (unfortunately, before the current round of deals… grrr…), and was happy with them. Communications was fine. Try phoning them - their phone number is on the appliance central website.

    • Have never received a message back from them. They're the definition of useless.

  • +2

This is a good TV for the price with a few caveats: As it is not a bright TV, don't buy if you want to use it in a well lit room or HDR is important to you.

Also due to having a VA panel, its picture quality will diminish when viewed from anywhere but directly in front. It also has some motion issues with movies.

With its low input lag, I think this TV would be best suited to those looking to mainly use it for non-HDR gaming in a dimly lit room.

    • it does have HDR in the spec?

      • +1

Yeah it's compatible with HDR10 and HLG content, just isn't very good at displaying it.

  • thanks for sharing

  • Hook me up with 75" QLED sonnnn!!!

  • +7

Things I wish I knew when I purchased a Samsung TV in 2018.

1 - If you don't have a 4K HDMI receiver and you want to connect your devices straight to your TV, then have your TV use ARC to push sound to your receiver, 2018 Samsung TV's ** DO NOT ** pass through DTS surround sound. They pass Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital + quite happily, but not DTS. Previous years did, 2018 Samsung series' across the board don't. I've worked around this by outputting sound directly from my HTPC to my non 4k amp via toslink, but I shouldn't bloody have to.

2 - If you have a dark scene and subtitles are enabled, when subtitles show, the whole picture VISIBLY changes brightness. When the subtitles disappear, the whole scene goes back to dark. Doesn't seem like much but it's (profanity) annoying in person. Read up here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/TVs/Brightness-changes-w…

Other than that, TV's are great.

    • +3

That 2nd pointer is a killer.

      Thanks for sharing!

    • +1

      Thanks for sharing your experience.
The subtitles and variable brightness is a huge issue, which I was unaware of.

    • +1

Is this for ALL Samsung TV's?

    • Point 2 happens to my Sony android TV too

Really pisses me off when I'm watching netflix with subs and the whole picture and whitens up

      • May I ask if its the Sony X90F?
My second choice after the Samsung Q9FN but point 2 is putting me off atm since I always have subtitles on

  • I went into JB Hi-Fi to have a look, image quality was ok compared to other 4K TV's. Also, the resolution was the same as the 55" version so does the larger version have lower pixel density? Is it still 4K?

    • the resolution was the same as the 55" version

They are all 4k TV of course the same.

    • Yep the larger the screen, the lower the pixel density. But of course that's only noticeable if you are close enough to the screen..

      • At what point is it no longer 4K?

        • Resolution is irrespective of screen size. A 4K cinema projection that's 20m across is still just as 4K as this 65" 4K TV. If you mean how close do you have to get to this TV before the difference between 4K and 1080p becomes apparent, well that depends on how good your eyesight is and who you ask. If you have 20/20 vision, it's generally recommended that you'd need to sit less than 2m away from this TV to see a significant difference. This is why 4K most suited to things like computer monitors you view up close or the biggest (75"+) TVs/projections.

  • Do they issue you with proper tax invoices like other major stores in ebay?

  • Bought one. Thanks OP

  • Bumped down to $1072 + Delivery now

  • Must. Resist.
