Hey lads this is a great deal for a well built super bright torch. Thorfire rate the VG10s at 1100 lumens but its defiantly brighter it is running on direct drive on highest output setting. I measured my VG10s at around 1600 lumens with room to grow i have a XPL2 doing 2200 lumens in a BLF A6 it melts my hands after 30 seconds. You will have to do a spring bypass to get max output.

Also note the VG10s only comes in NW tint no cold white it appears more to be a warm white tint maybe 4500k which is border between WW and NW.

The VG10s has 4 modes that are well spaced including a moonlight mode. It also has a hidden strobe.

Overall its a very well built torch with awesome heat sinking on par with a Eagle Eye X6/BLF X6 but the reflector size is smaller than the X6. I do love the tactical look of the VG10s especially the stainless steel bezel and it even comes with AR coated glass stock.

The VG10s is currently around 26 AUD on Aliexpress that might be a better option if you don't have free shipping.

  • Any bundle with battery and charger?

    • +2

From my experience Thorfire batteries are average at best they are generic Chinese cells. They do work but they have high resistance which will limit the max output.
I think Banggood is shipping batteries to Australia again.

      • What is a good OzBargain 18650 battery then?

        • +3

Seeing as you don't need all the amps in the world. I will list some cells with slightly higher capacity while still being moderate drain.

          LG HG2
          Samsung 30Q
          Panasonic GA (3500mah)
Sony VTC6 (Highest discharge amperage of the cells listed)

          • @aussieprepper: Where's the best place to get any of those batteries?

            • +2

@Jklaro: Banggood seem to be shipping cells to Australia again they are not the cheapest but its cheaper than buying local.

You can get the Sanyo/Panasonic GA cells for $8.46 each with the code (BCNLXK) seems like a good price for good quality cells. I can't remember where i found the code i think Banggood posted it at BLF.

The LG HG2 are usually a decent price even without a discount.

              • +1

@aussieprepper: I found some on eBay like Samsung and lg for around $9 each from aus. Could these be fake at this price?

                • +1

@Jklaro: Could you link them? They may be real but that is cheap. You can usually tell from the design of the positive terminal. This won't help if they have fake pictures up.

                  • @aussieprepper: I can't post the eBay link its not allowed. So I had a look it's actually from techaroundyou.

Does it matter if it's a button top or flat top?

                • +4

@Jklaro: I usually buy from techaroundyou. They're legit and I have no problem at all with the batteries

                  • @abebram: Do you have a link? I was too excited about a flashlightdeal and bought this torch … don;t need it and realized I don't have the battery. I think I found the Sanyo one from @aussieprepper … but it has around $5 shipping costs. Any better deals out there? Not good in spotting fakes.
                    Any charger recommendations?

                  • +1

@abebram: They have a eBay store and they are cheaper through the eBay store. $8 for one but hasn't got a button top. Is a button top required?

                    • +1

@Jklaro: Nah the light has springs on both ends you can use any cells in it.

Efest cells are good and some are re-wraps of majors brands.

lets see i bought my thorfire BLF Q8 6 months ago and used it once so better pass on another torch.

    • Why? To big? To bright?

      • *Too

      • I probably bought out of curiosity as i have bought so many torches on here ,its as bright as hell and reasonably weighty but after the initial use i haven't used it as i have so many others that are easier to throw 1 battery in and use. I guess you really need a purpose for that beast of a torch.

        • Yep 110% the bigger brighter lights are some what of novelty. When i go fishing i grab a headlamp and a torch like a C8 and of i go. Can't carry such a big light with all my other gear.
In most situation you don't need that much light any ways but lumens do sell!

  • Did OP miss this little nugget at the bottom of the Amazon page??!!
"Save 20% each on VG10S or TK15 or TK15S Flashlight offered by ThorFire-AU when you purchase 1 or more. Enter code K8DLLQA2 at checkout"
I entered the code and got $4 off and the postage was $5 so I paid $21 total!!
Please note this discount covers 2 other flashlights TK15 or TK15S

    • Thanks i updated the deal. I thought it was for more than 1 light.

  • Thanks OP. I have a clone china version which is definitely good, but keen to give this one a try. Having high drain 18650s, keen to see what its like.

  • What size/how many batteries does this torch require?

    • +2

      The VG10s uses a single 18650.

I wish you could schedule deliveries for when the wife isn’t around.

    • +2

You certainly can. Send it to the mistress' house. :)

      • +1

Lol already sent to many there she won't be happy either.

      • But her hubby wouldn’t be happy

    • Cos she might misread the "a" as an "e"?

    • I get mine delivered to the Storage King which is a short walk from my house for that exact reason.
It's an official Amazon drop off place so you save a dollar or two on postage also.

  • Does this come with a belt holster or can anyone recommend the right sized one?

    • +1

It has a Stainless clip included but no holster.
Its 134mm long and the head is 33mm wide jetbeam have some similiar sized lights on the market with holsters.

  • Cant get the code to apply once in cart.. expired?

  • I entered the code for the flashlight and I'm a prime member and it said
"The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." So it wants to charge me $28.99. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks

    • Same problem I am having.

  • Item also states it's not eligible for Prime so no free shipping and coupon doesn't work. Item being sold by Price dumb. Guess it has expired.

    • Yea it appears so it was sold by Thorfire and fulfilled by amazon when i posted the deal.

      • Thanks for the reply. I would have liked one of these :). Next time

  • Not working anymore

  • +2

TK15 and TK15S still in stock at Thorfire shipped by Amazon with the 20% off. [$15.19] K8DLLQA2. Not as powerful, but still a decent torch.

    • Hi MorriJ. After the code didn't work last night for the VG10S I ended up getting sucked in and buying the TK15S. Hopefully still a nice little torch. Though would have loved the VG10S. Good deal for $15 delivered.
