Missed marketing opportunity. Should've called it SOARSE.

Most tempered glass skin protector i have tried dont work well with curved screen so I m reluctant to give this a try

    • +3

I believed this is similar to the Whitestone dome glass type. You have to apply the full Glue when you applying the glass.

    • Hi, This is the best type of screen protector for Curved Glass screen.

I didnt try this brand specifically but im currently using these UV activated full glue tempered glass protector. It works amazing on curved screen, so much that the glass protector is hardly noticeable. It feels like its part of the sceeen. I would highly recommend it. And the fingerprint works as well

can you link the one you bought?

Its from ebay Winfoxaustralia, but i think mine was a generic brand. Though this deal posted is actually cheaper than how much I paid for which was $14.95 (i use it for Huawei Mate 20 Pro).

I would suggest that you should try the one from whitestone. One of the best in quality.

  • The phone comes with pre-install screen protector.

  • The main attraction for tempered glass to me was the easy application and replacement so I am reluctant to use a glue. How easy is this to remove and replace?

    • Exactly what I was thinking. How’s it removed?

      • In comparison to full adhesive curved protectors, It’s a clean removal compared to standard tempered glass that shatters cause of how stuck to the screen it is. I work a phone accessory and repair store and UV protectors by far are the easiest to apply and remove. Also when applying make sure you cover buttons, top speaker and ports at the bottom with tape (learnt that the hard way) and remove dust with tape. If a bubble gets trapped you can try removing it (but most of the times this won’t work) or set whatever you have with the uv light, then remove it after (saves you a lot of time when cleaning up your mistake). Also clean all excess with a q-tip before setting it with light

        • That sounds way more difficult than tempered glass. Also, how do you remove the glue?

If you get dirt with glass you pull it off and reapply the same piece of glass since it is just surface tension and static that causes the adhesion. If/when the glass shatters they come off as one sheet - I have never had a tempered glass protector NOT come off as one sheet. I have had struggles with tablets which had glued laminate panels when I tried to change the panel and the glue was a PAIN.

          • @Fiximol: The glue comes off with the screen protector on removal. The reason why I said it’s easier to apply is because with standard tempered glass if you don’t allign it well it bubbles on the edges whereas with these thsts not an issue.

You can’t just lift the glass and reapply that same glass, as one you won’t have enough glue as excess will ooze from the sides and the consistency of the glue changes with exposure to air so it’s becomes less workable with to push out. It’s not impossible but it’s hard to do.

Removal like I said earlier is so easy and there’s no worry about it shattering into bits on removal.

    • Plus $3 postage.

      • Free Shipping to Australia via China Post Ordinary Small Packet Plus

        • Come up as $3.32 shipping, no free ship option at all, $3.32 is the cheapest option to me, item is $5.61 then they charge an extra 10% gst on top of course. So around $10 total, still cheap.

          • @PVA: Weird on the pc it says free but on my phone it charges lol

  • anyone succesfully installed this with a case on? I always found that i could not have my spigen case and Tempered glass skin protector on at the same time

    • +1

It will work with cases, the thing with these protectors is they perfectly align themselves with the sides, the only thing you need to correct is it moving to far up or too far down on the screen

  • Is this some generic brand but a rebranded to a different name? Same generic pictures used: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/For-Samsung-Galaxy-S10-S10e-S10-…

  • Anything for note 9?

  • Does this have the Camera Cut out in the front like the Whitestone Dome?

    • Hi, Yes it has.

  • Curious to know if the glue leaves any sticky residue when taking off in the future (if protector is cracked and want to replace and etc)

  • tape up your phone, especially the buttons and earpiece.

They generally give too much glue and you end up with it pouring down the sides into your buttons. And when it sets, then well you can't press them anymore

  • Look forward to phones with sapphire crystal glass screens.

  • So is it a screen protector with edge adhesive or fully adhesive including centre. Or do is it edge adhesive and you just pour glue into it to make it glue to the screen

    • It's a tempered glass screen protector with no adhesive applied. You use the kit to pour on the loca glue and then carefully place the glass on top. Once it has evenly spread using gravity, you cure the glue with UV light. Not the easiest thing to do but not impossible

      • Have you tried it and if you have how does it compare to normal edge adhesive

  • Do you have a photo of the actual protector as I am interested in grabbing one but would like to see the fit before committing.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one, will let you know how it goes.

    • Keen to hear how it goes!

  • i just bought it and the price was $11:99 , i know its only a slight reduction, but still :D

    • Hi, Please be advised that the screen protector priced at $11.99 is form "AU dream" not from us, and is not our one, they are selling a different one under our brand name.

  • I've purchased two which arrived today, installation was very easy. However think ultrasonic fingerprint reader is not functioning. I'll let the UV glue cure for 24hrs and test it tomorrow. Apart from that it looks great and feels nice.

    • Hi RDTaus, any pictures you can post about the protector and the included accessories? TIA :)

    • I bought one too. Have not installed it yet but did notice it had no cutout for the front camera. How's image quality with the glass covering the lens?

      • Camera quality I have actually noticed no difference. I set my fingerprint back up again today and its working fairly well, had to register 3 times though which is a pain.

        • Thanks for the photos and comments. The latest Whitestone installation video actually wants you to briefly cure the screen then press the fingerprint region for a minute before completing the installation. I didn't notice that in the original video I watched. Haven't seen this on the other installation videos.

          • @ewok666: That's pretty interesting, I've got a second one and just waiting for my second S10+ to arrive then I will try that while curing the screen. The ultrasonic fingerprint reader is slowly getting better on my current one which is great to see.

            • @RDTaus: Good to hear the scanner is getting better ;-) On another note, how much of the glue did you use and did it flow over the speaker at all?

              • @ewok666: I used all of the glue and I just cover the receiver/speaker with some tape to make sure it didn't get in.
