  • Has anyone tried both this and the dunlopillo product?

    • +1

Yes, I always have had Dunlopillo and last time these came on special I ordered them. I’m really happy with them and I’d definitely buy again. The longer size fits in a standard pillow slip and two fit across a king bed better than the standard size.

Hi josh09 - our pillows can be directly compared to the old Dunlopillo pillows. The factory that we manufacture our pillows in is the original Dunlopillo factory. Many people consider the original Dunlopillos to be superior to the current one and are delighted when they find our product. Hope this helps.

I currently use the classic it's a fantastic pillow

    • +1

Same, I am really happy with my purchase. I usually sleep with my arm under my head. I always had a sore arm in the morning from the weight of my head. Not anymore, I guess this distributes the weight better. My wife is not as excited about her, she is ok with it but I am over the moon :).

Do the three of you share the same pillow?

        • going thirds in a pillow is the ozbargain way

        • each one of us gets a side… you have to use both sides of a pillow (the underware way).

  • +1

Another happy customer here. Well worth the purchase if you're looking for a good latex pillow.

  • Are these the same as 'memory foam' pillows?

    • Hi skrot - they are different to memory foam pillows. Memory foam compresses inwards, adjusting to your personal profile. Talalay latex compresses outwards, providing head, neck & spinal support when you sleep.

We do sell a pillow that is memory foam on one side & latex on the other: https://www.tlclatexpillows.com.au/memory-foam-latex-pillow.…

It is currently on special at $90 per pillow. You can use the discount code MORESLEEP to get an additional $10 off this week.

      I hope this helps.

  • Any idea how your classic pillow compares to this: https://www.dialabed.net.au/collections/latex-pillows/produc…

I am currently using the Pure Touch brand.

    • Hi pantsparty - I actually don't know too much about Pure Touch pillows - other than that they are made by Slumbercare, who I believe are predominantly mattresses manufacturers. Unfortunately the link you provided does not give the dimensions or density advice for the pillow.

I wouldn't like to comment further as I am not familiar with the pillow or brand, and there doesnt appear to be any independent reviews online (EG: Product Review, etc). Sorry I can't be any more help on this.

  • Seems the big is also sometimes at $65. Exactly the same as the classic just longer?

    • Hi kulprit - yes 'The Big' is the same profile (height) and density (firmness) as 'The Classic, but it is a longer pillow. We have had 'The Big' on sale at $65 once, back in June 2018 I think.

      • Thanks, might hold out for it then.

It says on your site that the big is 13cm thick while the classic is 14cm thick.

  • Anything special on snore pillows?

    • Hi jag007 - the sale is on 'The Classic' and 'The Therapeutic'. The best we can offer is 'The Stop Snore' at $85 (RRP $119) plus the MORESLEEP discount code for an additional $10 ff, plus free shipping. https://www.tlclatexpillows.com.au/stop-snore-medium-profile…

      I do hope this helps.

  • How are these pillows compared to the MicroCloud hotel pillows?

    • MicroCloud pillows are filled with man made polyester fibre, so they are VERY different to a natural Talalay latex pillow. They have a different head feel and offer very different types of neck & spinal support. MicroCloud are softer and quite plush - they sit on the bed very 'fluffed up' (great for a hotel) and them compress considerably when you sleep on them. Talalay latex pillows dont 'fluff' as they are made of 100% natural latex (rubber) - with their main aim being to provide adequate head, neck & spinal support.

      I do hope this helps.

      • How soft are latex pillows in terms of trying to balance comfort/support?

        • Hi monkeyoutlet - this is a tricky question as 'how soft' something feels is quite relative. We have had customers order the same pillow and one can comment that it is firmer than expected and the other comment that it is softer than expected.

That said, one of the main appeals of Talalay latex is that is offers 'softness with support'. So they are not firm pillows - they are soft to touch & they do compress when you rest your head on them. But they offer good head, neck & spinal support. The way to measure if a pillow offers good support is to press your hand down onto the pillow - when you take your hand away the pillow should fully recover to its original height within seconds. If it does not it is not going to provide good support. Talalay latex pillows recover instantly.

I hope this explanation helps a bit.

  • Is the Therapeutic pillow better overall than the Classic one? I'm a side sleeper and generally get good sleep aside from some occasional neck pain

    • +1

Hi spiderpig - they are very different pillows. 'The Classic' is as it sounds - a standard shaped supportive pillow that will definitely suit a side sleeper. 'The Therapeutic' is a contour shaped pillow. If you have never slept on a contour pillow before you should note that they can take some getting used to. The contour shape of the pillow is designed to coax/guide your body into alignment while you sleep, and to stop you from moving out of alignment through the night. These pillows are often recommended by chiropractors & therapists for those with injury or recurring pain - they are a genuine therapeutic pillow.

  • +1

I picked up a couple of 'The Big' pillows and absolutely love them. They're the bigger version of 'The Classic' and couldn't imagine going back to any other pillow.

I'd also like to add that the TLC Latex family are amazing and would definitely come back for any sleeping needs.

    • Thank you Escanor - this post has made our day!

  • So what the different between THE THERAPEUTIC medium and THE STOP SNORE PILLOW? Is it me or they both look the same.

    • You are right mt2000 - they are very similar pillows. 'The Stop Snore' is slightly softer than 'The Therapeutic' as it's focus is more on opening the airways for clear breathing. They are both contour shaped and medium profile, and we have had customers get 'The Therapeutic' for neck pain and advise that an unexpected benefit has been reduced snoring or heavy breathing.

  • Sorry Sp8472, just to confirm on the site it says the classic is 14cm thick and the big 13cm thick. Are they actually the same?

    • Hi Kulprit - they are almost the same. The way a Talalay latex pillow is made is that the latex (rubber) is poured into a mould and then the pillow is essentially 'baked'. The latex pour & they way it bakes does not produce an identical product everytime. So we may get a 'The Classic' at 13cm, another at 13.5cms and another at 14cms over a series of cartons. The same applies to 'The Big'. This 1cms differential on the website is based on the specific mould measurements, but the 'baked' product will vary ever so slightly pillow to pillow.

I do hope this makes sense. You can be assured that 'The Big' is simply a longer version of 'The Classic' - with the same detectable density, feel & height.

      • Thanks. If they definitely fit in a standard pillow case that sounds perfect. Wonder why normal pillow cases have so much spare room in them.

  • OP, is there a pillow you stock/sell that is similar to the Dunlopillo High Profile Latex pillow?

  • +1

Full marks to the rep: she/he/it has answered all the questions thoughtfully and completely. I'm sold.

  • Do these come with a standard cover/protector like the dunlopillo luxurious latex has? And how would your classic compare to the Dunlopillo Luxurious Latex classic in terms of firmness? TIA!

    • +1

Hi B-Rad - our pillows come with a 100% cotton zipped cover, easily removable for washing. We then recommend putting a pillow protector on top of this (and underneath your actual pillow slip) as it prolongs the life of your latex pillow.

Our 'The Classic' can be directly compared with the Dunlopillo Classic. They are both medium profile, medium density Talalay latex pillows. Our pillows are manufactured in the original Dunlopillo factory - so ours are closely comparable to the original Dunlopillo pillows. Many feel that the original Dunlopillos were the best, and (although biased) we tend to agree.

If you have felt & liked the Dunlopillo Luxurious Laex Classic then you can be confident you will love our 'The Classic'.

      I do hope this helps.
      Kind regards,

      Amanda

      • Thanks Amanda, I'm sold!

  • Tested out what I think was an old Dunlopillo and found out a bit low and not quite firm enough. The only option then for firmer is the biggest?

    • Sorry for the delayed reply kulprit - we somehow missed your post. If you have tried a Dunlopillo recently you will likely find our 'The Big' slightly taller & firmer. But if you are looking for a real difference in profile & density then yes 'The Biggest' is definitely the pillow for you.

  • Hi OP, Can you comment on the softness of 'The Soft Pillow' vs 'The Big' vs 'The Classic'. Perhaps from 1-10 for each?

Also, are their any retailers in the extended Melbourne area where I could try out your wares?

    Thanks for your work here.

    • Hi Danam,

I am afraid we do not have a retail store where you can try/feel the pillows. We only sell at our online store (www.tlclatexpillows.com.au) which is the reason we are able to offer this standard of pillow at the price point we do. With that in mind we do have a generous exchange/returns policy.
So to compare the pillows outlined above for density (softness/firmness):
      The Soft: 3/10
      The Classic: 6/10
      The Big: 6/10

So 'The Classic' & 'The Big' are essentially the same density & height, just a different length. 'The Soft' is indeed soft. That said, the 'feel' of a pillow is quite relative. We have had customers who have ordered 'The Soft' pillow & reported that it is softer than they expected, just as we have had 'The Soft' customers report it is firmer than they expected.

I do hope this helps. If there is anything else I can do to assist in choosing the right pillow for you please just let me know.

      • Thanks very much for all of that. I have read previously that The Classic is somewhat comparable to the current Dunlopillo Medium/Medium. Are you able to describe how your latex compares feel wise to the current generation Dunlopillo. I never tried the old Dunlopillo, so I'm not sure why it is preferable for some. I'm curious to know if yours is more or less 'reboundy' for example.

I was leaning towards the Dunlopillo soft before finding your pillows. If I tried one of these out, are there any different characteristics you could describe for your The Soft?

        • Keeping in mind that the comfort of a particular pillow really comes down to personal preference many feel the original Dunlopillo (which our pillows are directly comparable to) was more supportive and better quality. More supportive can translate to 'more reboundy' as the quality of a latex pillow does come down to it's support & recovery. If you press down on a Talalay latex pillow it should recover back to it's original shape almost instantly, certainly within a few seconds. This is the mark of a quality (well looked after) latex pillow.

Our 'The Soft' is very similar to the current Dunlopillo Soft - we think ours are better but of course we are biased. If you have tried the Dunlopillo Soft you can be confident ordering our 'The Soft'. And do keep in mind that our returns/exchange policy means that if 'The Soft' isnt right you can exchange for 'The Classic'.
