i'm just signing up to Stripes and it gives me the option to enter a Stripes member I was recommended by…does anyone want me to enter their Stripes ID?

  • double post.

  • All over red rover for PER flights.

  • Good deal! It's a shame none of them suit me :(

time to jetstar price match >:)

    • +1

jetstar can go get f%$ked. never fly with them again. rude and unhelpful.

      • yes, but its cheap!!

      • let me know if you could get the price match! i really need to find a cheap flight early july bne-melb.. but i dont want to fly with tiger coz they sucked.. please let me know if u manage to get pricematch! thanks!

        • Why not look yourself? It's got nothing to do with luck or chance - if you find a Tiger flight that leaves within an hour of a Jetstar flight and is cheaper it will be price matched.

    • Expect this to take at least 45 minutes, though they do eventually

    • Already tried, not gonna happen.

In accordance with Jetstar policy - "Free fares on other airlines (taking into account all applicable surcharges, fees and taxes) are excluded from this promotion." Since the 'sale price' is $0.00 and the $1 is for tax, this makes it ineligible for Jetstar's price match guarantee. =(

Even if tiger were to give away free flights for a week, I would still never fly with them again. made the mistake of flying with them twice before, never again (6hr delay, then canceled flight without notifying us)!!!!

  • Couldn't find any from Mel > Brissie :(

  • It's only one way, there are no return? Full fare for return?

    • its 'sale' fare for return.

  • I think from mel to sydney round trip is cheapest. Just under $60

  • ADEL-MELB is $1, but there's no return sale flight :(
The cheapest MELB-ADEL flight I could find is $40 (which you could usually get for ~$25 at the best of times). Seems pretty suss.

      $41 return isn't a bargain?

      • It is overall, but I think they're absorbing the impact/cost to them by increasing prices of 'non-sale' flights.

It's called marketing. I swear half the people on this site aren't happy unless companies are sending themselves out of business for the sake of giving us a bargain.

  • Big positive from me, got a round trip to Brissy (from Sydney) for $50. None of that midweek crap either - Friday to Sunday.

    • Around what dates?? I have looked for a few and can't find any under the normal price.

      • Leaving June 3, returning June 5. The Friday one is a touch earlier than I'd like (full time employed) - but that was the $1 leg.

        • Cheers. I'm checking it out now!

I hate being in Perth, GET ME OUT OF HERE!

    • +1

Same here :( Clearly Perth doesn't exist to anyone who doesn't live in Perth

      • +2

        What's a Perth?

  • Ok I think tiger is being really sneaky… you can find $1 flights if you search for return flights, but try to book that exact flight one-way and it fails. I know that you can still fly from SYD to MCY for $41 return - but seriously that is a lot more than $1…

I hope they get punished for their deception.

    • Exactly my line of thought.

    • +3

It's clearly stated in their terms and conditions, why would they get punished?

"$1 'Tiger Raw' domestic fares may only be booked as part of a return fare on a round trip booking."

      • "may only be booked as part of a return fare" does NOT clearly state that you can only ever get one leg for $1 and the return fare will probably be 40 times that… that is why I say Tiger is being sneaky.

    • you really expected the sale fare for a return flight to be $2.00?????

      • Well, yeah - that's what $1 fare means isn't it? With their sneakiness they've not sold a single $1 fare, but rather a whole lot of $41 to $100+ return fares… I wouldn't be complaining if they made that clear.

      • You don't think their aircrafts run on water,do you???:))

  • The thing with Tiger is.. I don't want to book a holiday then get the flights cancelled last minute

  • Not too bad. $58 for Sydney to Brisbane return. They will sting you with a $15 fee if you use anything BUT an Australian issued Mastercard Debit.

  • Yea it's slightly dodgy, because YES they do have $1 for going, but the date's I check, is nothing short of like $50. Plus one way isn't that 'cheap', unless it's a short flight like Mel-Syd, then you'll get it for $29.95 one way, maybe $59.95 return.

Still it's not bad, if you get a good plan, take it, cheaper return than buying 2 one-way tickets.

EDIT: Apologies, it's cheaper if you select Avalon Airport, then its $30.95 return.

  • Upside, you save a couple of hundred dosh. Downside: possible risks include delays, baggage loss/delays, poor customer service if something goes wrong.

If you don't mind the above, and don't mind flying for the sake of getting from a to b (comfort/extras/prestige don't matter to you) then this was a great deal! :)
