Probably trying to clear stock for the new series which look incredibly good on the latest leaks…

Good time to buy PC parts

      • AMD CPU - 1 free game
      • Buy a Samsung SSD, get a free Far Cry New Dawn game
      • Buy Nvidia RTX-series cards, get a BFV / Anthem / Metro Exodus
      • or get an AMD Graphics card, get up to 3 games (Resident Evil 2, DMC , Division)

RAM prices also going down lately so good time as any to build a system or upgrade.

      • If I hadn't bought my Nvidia GPU last year (came with Monster Hunter World), I'd be very tempted to get an AMD card just for DMC5/Resident Evil 2.

      • Yup, I snagged AC Odyssey, Star Control, Strange Brigade, DMC5, RE2 and The Division 2 in my PC build. Bought two RX570s for $200 each and a 2600 for $210. The games kinda paid for the parts themselves. Missed out on Far Cry though… bought that before the promo.

  • I bought 2700x during Christmas from CA. Not sure if I am still eligible?

If Xmas was before Jan 9, nope

I do sound stupid now, but that date was not present initially in the deal. Thanks for the reply.

  • Here’s the cheapest Ryzen 5 2600 I could find, $212 after 20% off, expires tomorrow though.

From futu online so you get the game as well

    • Nice. I'd be leaning towards the 1700 for an extra 10 or 20 bucks but that's a sweet deal on something that can be a main box now and a lounge box for many years.

  • Damn. Bought an R5 from Scorptec a couple of weeks before the promo started.

    Wait for zen 2

  • Hmm, does this mean we might see cheap cdkeys around for Div2 then perhaps?

    • Id say so, but if it worked like assassins creed: odyssey, they are redeemed via a ubisoft redemption page and Uplay, not steam.

At the moment, the xbox key is cheaper than the pc release. /shrug.

Possibly as a result of the fragmentation of the Uplay and Epic store shenanigans.

  • damnit, bought a techfast pc with this and i hoped they would be part of it but looks like they aren't.

    +1 for waiting a few weeks/months

The "Zen 2" 3rd generation Ryzen 3/5/7/9 3300-3850x series chips will arrive "soon", but it's been a long time waiting since November 2018.

The premise is, for the same price, you get double the cores, with less power, less heat, and backwards compatibility so you can swap the CPU on a Ryzen 1xxx or 2xxx system once you get a bios upgrade to support the new features.

    Starting with a ~$250 ryzen 3 3300, 6 core, 12 thread CPU, which would be similar to the $600 Intel i7 8700k, up to a 16 core, 32 thread ryzen 9 3850x for ~$750 competing against the ~$900 i9 9900k.

At similar or better speeds than Intel's 8th and 9th generation CPUs.

Pricing isn't fixed yet, neither is performance. AMD was supposed to launch the product line up during CES in January, now it's likely to be computex in June, and it still could.

by breaking the CPU into smaller, "easier" to produce 7nm modules, rather than trying to make larger chips in one wafer that might fail, Zen 2 should be easier to cool, cheaper to make, and faster to produce, once it's going.

The current rumour is June/July, with the often-delayed Navi graphics chipset coming in October/November, along with the 3300g and 3500g integrated Navi CPUs soon after, which will be console like, and 1080p gaming capable.

The Zen 2 Ryzen 3x00 series has been leaked since December last year, rumoured to be released by March, demo'd at CES in January, and prices were accidentally released a few weeks ago, which probably means that it's "close" but likely June rather than April.

The current delay is partially due to the X570 motherboard chipsets waiting for AMD, which is a similar story for the previous ryzen 2xxx series.

The other delay is also shortages in production and development, likely due to the new design having to scale up with Intel's 5ghz speed to stay competitive.

Still, a good chance to get a clearance deal on the unpopular CPUs, like the 2500 and 2700.

Some of the ebay redemption discount codes end up being as cheap as the newegg / Amazon.com grey market imports, $436 for the 2700x iirc.

  • I may be keen for a cheap cdkey !

  • I too would pay a pineapple for a key

  • bought a 2700x in feb not knowing this promo. Ple sent an email to redeem.

You'll need the actual CPU to claim as there's a hardware verification check (was using my old pc cause waiting for parts).

    Thanks OP!

  • Purchased my ryzen 5 system from techfast in Dec last year but the system was only built and received in Jan ( one month later).

Do you think they will honour this? @luketechfast
