    Do these have palm oil?

    • +5

I know it's jv, but why would someone downvote this?

      • +8

Some people don't care about palm oil and the damage it does.

So what are you personally doing about the issue?

@Icecold5000: Hes not buying products with Palm Oil, literally the only thing any of us can do about it

            • +1

@Pacify: No I don't think so. If the palm oil issue was actually important to him the comment should have "This product does not contain palm oil according to this link therefore I recommend it over XXX brand which does contain palm oil".

Instead we get stupid questions which are easily answered by anyone with initiative and a internet connection. I JV does not know or care if this product contain palm oil or not. He just can't help lying to cover up his idiocy.

              • @Icecold5000:

JV does not know or care if this product contain palm oil or not.

                Prove it…

                • @jv: Hitchens razer - what has been asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

How do ya like them apples.

          • @Icecold5000: Looks like they are avoiding buying it..

          • @Icecold5000: He's clearly trying to avoid supporting it…

        • Which palm oil alternatives do you think are better?

          • @Jameseb98: I use non genetically modified cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.

    • +8

Why don't you google it and find out for yourself. How hard can that be for a competent individual such as yourself?

      • You don't even have to Google it, since ingredients are listed in the link.

      • Then how would they virtue signal?

      • +6

Have you never seen JV before? Easily the most annoying person on here…

    • I hope so. I only buy unsustainably sourced palm oil products.

      • -2

Either way, the question needed to be asked.

        • +3

No the question doesn’t need to be asked because the answer is self evident on the list of ingredients. To anyone who knew how to google. Heres a question, what is the point is your silly little questions?

          • -3

            @Icecold5000:

            on the list of ingredients.

They weren't listed by the OP

            • +1

@jv: That's not a requirement and you know that so there lies end to you attempt to make up rules. Sad face.

              • @Icecold5000:

                That's not a requirement

                I didn't say it was.

                    Nope. My statement was correct.

                    • @jv: Nope, it wasn't needed.

                      • @Icecold5000: Maybe not by you, but you can't speak for everyone…

@jv: Which you too seem to be doing….

                          • @Icecold5000: Nope, I've never said that. I've never claimed to speak for everybody (unlike some others here)

                            • @jv:

Either way, the question needed to be asked.

                              Wrong. Again.

@jv: Why not, you’ve provided no evidence to the contrary just claims which add up to nothing.

What does the coconut one taste like? Is it like coconut rough?

    • +3

Yes, similar to that. I love it.

    • +4

      Taste like awesome.

    • +6

Just try it, you won't regret it. If I could I would marry the coconut Whittaker's flavor. But our nanny state laws….

    • +1

It's better than coconut rough. Like coconut rough on steroids.

    • +2

I'd go as far as saying best coconut and chocolate combination out there!

      • Damn you guys are really selling it to me haha

    • It's the best variant - fiends are pushing and scratching each other to get it like world war Z

    • It’s so good. Like the best coconut and chocolate combo ever.

  • +9

so annoyed they don't import the peanut butter flavour any more.. so no reason for me to buy Whittaker's chocolate anymore.

    • Once in a while they’re on sale at Big W (often store-dependent and not advertised). I’ve had some good luck at Big W QV in the past. Otherwise, at full price, still one of the best!

    • Yes! I love the peanut butter one so much.

    • +1

Try IGA. I've seen them stock more varieties.

    • PB one is amazing!

    • I got back from NZ last week with a peanut butter block in toe and am devo it's gone. The sheer range of Whittakers over this is crazy and makes me insanely jealous compared to basic bitch Cadbury :(

    • I've seen the PB one at Big W South Yarra plenty of times.

  • -8

FYI the blocks are smaller in Australian they are, 250gm in NZ and cheaper & more in range I called Whittakers a year ago when the block size srank here and the answer was. It's the cost of doing business in Australia, from that day on I have never touched there brand again.I was just in nz last week and the block size is still 250gm

    • +10

I’d rather a smaller block than no block at all! Seems like a pretty petty reason to stop supporting a NZ business tbh.

    • +2

They gave you an honest answer and you're upset that they are trying to be competitive and not raise prices? Why would a product in another country have to be the same price or size as it is here?

It's common practice, I hope you don't touch any cadbury either.

      • -1

They gave you an honest answer

Business don't have a great record for honesty. Why would you assume that here given that the answer is just what they would say if they were price gouging?

    • I think coles has the 250g blocks though I'm not 100% sure though. I usually buy the caramel. Usual price is $6

Cadbury and pretty much every other junk food goes down in size. They went from 250g to 220g to 200g. You now pay the same for 200g that you used to pay for 250g. Costs go up so to delay the day we pay (for those that still buy Cadbury) $10 for a "family" size block they do this.

      • It's not because costs go up necessarily and junk food is a high margin product to begin with.

    • +1

The current price in NZ is 250g for AU$3.65 - equivalent to AU$2.92 for 200g. So you're boycotting them over 8 cents. How utterly ridiculous.

  • +2

    I Love peanut slabs!

Pretty sad discount on those though woolies!

  • +1

Don't forget about the half price Lindt!

  • +5

Peanut slabs = best chocolate hands down

    • +1

How they always get dumped at the bottom of the shelf space annoys me. Oh - try the Almond Gold. Tres Bon!

  • +1

Buy up. You can sell this at Auckland Airport for roughly $1000/kg.

  • +2

Can confirm that this rarely goes on sale as I'm a chocolate aisle regular.

  • +2

    The coconut one is DaShiz.

  • +2

The moment you coconut about coconut

  • Do they keep 72% in stores??? I can never find it. I would go out of my way to buy loads of it if they did

    • If you're referring to the ghana peppermint yes i have seen it (today) but it probably varies between stores.

  • Is this better than Cadbury? I have bought it few years ago but dont remember the taste now

    • +3

      By a country mile.

    • +1

      By a new york mile

  • On the list

  • +1

    Hokey Pokey or bust.

  • Great chocolate and they are 200gram / 220gram blocks. Ill only ever buy whittakers going forward as cadbury are dodgy and down sized their chocolate blocks which were 200g last year, but 180g now for the same price (white cadbury dream for example) 10% reduction in quantity!

  • 250g blocks at my two local Coles. Full price is $6

  • Ok just had the coconut one for the first time. Must say it's pretty good! I like the ratio of coconuts to chocolate however I do feel it's a tad on the sweet side for me. If it was half the sugar it'd be perfect!
