  • I do like this phone but waiting for a good deal on the Redmi Note 7 Pro!

You should know by now that they won't be releasing the global version for it, only China and Indian version are available. This means there won't be much support for software in the long run

Thanks for the heads up. I had actually missed that piece of news and disappointed to find out that's the case. I had been hanging for something to replace my older Redmi and was hoping not to change to a different operating system or brand.

        • I gave up and just bought a oneplus 6t, got it for $680 from ebay with 10%.

Felt that miui on Mi9 is not worth it and will be too hard to navigate for my gf. And the boatload of ads. Yes you can turn it off, but it's quite tedious. Plus they could just turn it on again on an update.

      • Haha damn I was waiting for the global version too…
I think I'll buy a Honor View 20 and try sell the Fortnite skin to get some Cashback.

        • I got the view 20 feels good mang
Just a heads up, I think they stop giving out the skin since someone hacked the servers to get imei of other people's phone. This happened a month ago, so dunno now.

I got a free Honor Magic watch which I sold, so I basically paid ~$500 for the phone. Becareful in buying the tempered glass protector since most of them will block the ambient light sensor, even brand names like Nilkin. Unless you buy the clear ones, the ones without black borders, I find that Mofi works well.

Make sure you don't get the Indian version, they have slower charging time. Camera is as great as the reviews. Just the UI is abit of a let down, I'm using Nova launcher prime and all is well.

Battery last about 1.5 to 2 depending on usage.

So this phone doesn't have expandable storage or water resistance?

Looking at the specs on the product it says: Google Play: No

    • You could just install it with the APK file.

  • B28 is not in the list of bands on the website… Are you sure it's supported?

    • The global model is sold with NFC and 28, not the Chinese model

But your question is a relevant one though.
I seem to remember that many moons ago (mi5 I think) chinese versions were upgraded with reseller custom rom which they marketed as global rom.

Please Note you pay 10% Gst on Top of this price please change title to reflect actual price thanks.

  • Great phone.. but let down by the 64GB non-expandable storage.

  • I was sitting in front of my laptop for good half an hour last night, ready to hit "buy" button, but stopped. This phone has EVERYTHING i need and even more - I am Xiaomi user and IR blaster is nice to have. 64 GB with online backups / video and music streaming is not a big issue to me. NFC, wireless charging, 7 nm processor - boy, this phone has almost everything I wanted!

Except one thing - I COULD NOT find any information about band 28 and unfortunately I am with Optus. And yes let me tell you, in the areas I am I feel the pain with my current Xiaomi phone that does not have band 28.

So if I am wrong and this does have band 28 - well, I missed out on a great deal. Happy for someone to prove me wrong!
