among the best headphones ever made, better than the artificially boosted Bose-Beats-etc… and runs great with good mobiles playing FLAC files like LG v20, v30 etc that have the quad-DAC, no extra amp required ;) i compared these to my AudioTechnica m50, and found the 990 more neutral and 'cleaner' sounding
Fantastic headphones. I mainly listen to Rap, Hip Hop and Heavy Metal. Sound great for all of these. For an entry level amp, I recommend the Fiio E10k. Drives these babies easily.
They'll still work, but for the full effect and experience, an amp is recommended.
