What can this do that OBS can't?

      Lighten your wallet!

    • Maybe OBS does't offer paid support?

Haven't used Xsplit though I do have a license lying around that I got with a motherboard but it's my impression that OBS is more fully featured than Xsplit, could be incorrect.

    • Xsplit has paid devs actively working on it. You know how nvenc support just got in and beefed up in obs? Turns out that's been in xsplit for years. It's a more polished ui and use

  • There is a free version of Xsplit too with some limitations:

    • Content will be watermarked when you a higher resolution than 720p and/or a higher framerate than 30 fps
    • Content cannot be used for commercial purposes
    • Presentations limited to a maximum of 4 scenes
    • No simultaneous broadcasting to multiple streaming platforms
    • Watermarked Virtual Camera feature
    • No access to the following features: Audio Source, Local Streaming, Stream Delay, Source Transitions, Projector, Preview Editor, Audio Mix Preview, Skype Video - Camera and the Express Video Editor

In terms of which is "better" it depends on your use. I have an application for a sporting event where we are looking at multiple video feeds and text overlay from a number of sources.

Both XSplit and OBS have a large number of customization options available. From changing the bitrate to other audio and video enhancements, both of these systems work exceptionally well.
