Razer Chroma Laptop Stand $69 (was $169) + Shipping / Pickup @ Scorptech

240

Not everyone's cup of tea, but still $69 for a laptop stand with built in USB 3.0 hub (sorry, USB 3.2 gen 1 -_-) and RGB lighting it's not a bad price

EDIT: Turns out I can't edit my comment, so please see here for more info on USB 3.2: https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2019/03/dont-get-fooled-by-usb…

  • Does this only work with Razer laptops?

    • Works with all laptops, but you'll need to download Razer synapse to control the RGB LEDs

      • Thanks!

+1 for actually knowing the new confusing USB standards

  • Don't you mean 3.1 Gen 1? Or did they change it again?

    • +2

      They're changing it again to:

      USB 3.2 gen 1 (previously USB 3.0/3.1 gen 1, 5Gbps)
      USB 3.2 gen 2 (previously USB 3.1 gen 2, 10Gbps)
      USB 3.2 gen 2x2 (new, 20Gbps)

      https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2019/2/27/18243425/u…

      • That is very stupid.

Now all the labeling from older equipment is no longer up to date and it's going to confuse people.

And why 2x2? Why not 3?

3.0 was simple and short. Much shorter than "3.2 gen 1". No one is going to say 3.2 gen 1 in spoken conversation. 3.0 is just quicker and easier to say.

They should have left things as is. 3.0 = 5Gbps, 3.1 = 10 Gbps, 3.2 = 20 Gbps. For get about the 'gens'.

Hopefully they do a 4.0 some day and leave all these older speeds behind and not port them over to 4.0 gen 1, gen 2, etc.

Basically everyone agrees with you on the naming scheme, except for the USB standards committee. Hence my -_- face

@Diji1: Oops yeah I just grabbed the first link. Should've realised it was from them. I might amend to a different source

  • $21+ delivery?

  • Anyone in Canberra want to share an order / split shipping?

Shit, $69 for a laptop stand not even a cooler no fans lol

    • Was $169.00 though, so at $69 it must be a bargain.. just not an OzBargain.

Upvoted for the effort by the poster anyway.

  • I bought a $50 cooler from amazon and it works like a charm. It stands the laptop and have 5 fans.
