[NSW] Eclipse Mints 34g $0.50 @ Coles Merrylands

600

I went to Coles Merrylands and found that the new eclipse mints comes in a 40g tin. So I scanned the 34g old tin and come up at 50c each.
I am not sure if other stores are at same price. Expiration dates are end of this year and jan 2020.

I didn't see the Eclipse when I went today, but it has reminded me - I saw "Melon Madness" Tic Tacs for $0.30 at the checkouts (Macquarie Centre Coles, NSW).

Didn't post and now probably not much stock left but you see these by any chance?

    +1 for great mints though.

You’re saying they’ve increased in size? ACA should do a story on that.

    • The other new size is 20g in think.

  • Great price, would grab a whole box if i live nearby. They normally go on sale at Coles express for $3 for 2

    • normally go on sale at Coles express for $3 for 2

Really? Better check my Coles Express then!

  • Thanks that’s my local, hope I find some when I go!

I found the old ones sometimes tasted like watermelon, there was a watermelon flavour as well in the old ones, so some type of cross contamination in the factory I guess. New ones no dramas 10/10 would recommend.

  • damn.. bought it recently on clearance for $1!!! could've save 50c..

I have stopped using anything 'eclipse' since I have moved to IntelliJ..

    • So you switched from one resource intensive jvm IDE to another resource intensive jvm IDE?

  • Is it an extra 6g of mints or tin? :P

    • The tin is noticeably bigger. Maybe I'll break out the weighing scales later to confirm ;)

The tins themselves are actually quite useful as mini containers. I keep a few around and use them for storing treats for my dog for when we go out for long walks.

      • You could just count the mints, unless you suspect those have changed too.

  • So did anyone find it for 50c at a store other than Merrylands?

  • They now come in 17g and 40g.

The 17g are Made in China, while the 40g are Made in Australia.
