Data on all 3 or just on the Lightning port?

    • I would also like to know this, on the hunt for one that has data transfer capabilities for all cables

      • +1

Data only on the lightning cable.

this supports data on all 3 cables but does not support Quick Charge.

It's unclear whether the cable in the OP supports Qualcomm's Quick charge.

        • is the above the best cable for data capabilities?
looking to add one in the car do Android Auto as our family use both USB-C and micro USb phones

          • +1

@tomee: I use it exactly for that purpose. It comes up as a USB hub on my Focus' Sync 3 head unit but AA and AC still work :)

            • @CVonC: Here's hoping 😁. I just ordered two as we have an iPhone and a Pixel…

              • @rx8pilot: Mine arrived today…and NO it doesn't quite work in the car. Specifically, the USB-C and Micro USB are CHARGE only, the Lightning connection supports data.

So it doesn't support our Carplay / Android Auto conundrum.

Now that I've got the two cables I ordered, there is a USB logo on the lightning plug and just a charge (lightning bolt) symbol on the other two.

                Bummer.

                • @rx8pilot:

Wasn't the one that I linked to then. Mine definitely supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Unless you're talking about the OP cable.

        • so i bought one and tried to use it on my Kenwood AA headunit and it didnt work.
plug it in and it says 'USB hub not supported'
          FFS

          • @tomee: Interesting.. I just have to "okay" out of that warning screen then my phone gets detected on AA. Have you tried unplugging and plugging it in again after that message comes up?

            • @CVonC: yeah tried everything.
i had to go back to my old cable and everything worked again.

i suspect it might be something to do with the Kenwood HU not liking it

              • @tomee: That's a shame. Thanks for the warning for Kenwood owners.

  • How does this differ from this one i purchased on Aliexpress for $3.37 delivered?
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Usb-Cable-3-in-1-For-samsung…
EDIT - just tested by adding to cart and buying and its actually $2.14 delivered.

    • Bought 1 from Ali, took 1.5 months to get here! May be that's difference apart from the price

  • MFI?

    • It stated NO in the description.

    • +2

      NFI

  • I would like to know if it supports data transmission one all 3 + if its supports quick charge/PD

    • data only on lightning.

definitely not PD and unsure of QC.

  • +1

I noticed that such 3 in 1 cables, of different brands, work well with ios despite non-MFI. Ie. I’ve never got “accessory not supported” using 3 in 1s, even for longer time.

Is this a thing or just luck?

The Official Baseus AliExpress website has better deals on these cables and a better description of what you're buying, BTW according to the Baseus page it states that it can charge all 3 phones at once but only the iPhone can accept data and charge Baseus 120cm 3 in 1 USB Cable, tri color AU$7.12, free shippin or this one Baseus 120cm 3 in 1 USB Cable, single color AU$6.69, free shipping

  • Would buy if the prongs were longer on the fork.

You pretty much can only charge one device at a time if your devices are not small. Or if you wan to have one device lay on the desk while you play with a different one. With prongs this short, they need to stay very close together, which is not practical if you want to be using one of them.

    • Prongs are longer on the data on all 3 cables one I posted in the comment above

      • Where can I get a cable with transparent ends that reveals the chip inside, like the one in the photos of the product you linked?

        https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1mIlXXdfvK1RjSspfq6zzXFXaL.jpg

It looks cool but it's not the product they are actually selling.

        • I've never seen a cable with a clear plug unfortunately.

  • Would love something like this with two USB C and one micro but so far haven't found one.
