      I used the search function to buy the gum. It never mentioned any expiry date in product description. If the send me near expiry, I'll just complain.

      Legally I think they need to mention close expiry date clearly

    I would expect better prices for short dated items. I've got similar prices from amazon before for stuff that wasn't short dated (Smith's Crinkle Cut Salt and Vinegar Chips, 6 x 330 Grams for $18).
