Good deal like buy 3 get 1 free.

  • It is a good deal because Kmart tyres are already cheap - they sell big name brands as well as rubbish brands.

    • The funny thing is, the generic brands were only $2 cheaper for my car.

If only they had this deal a few months ago…

  • +1

I wanted to unleash hell what with being your first deal posted and all, but hey, good deal ; )

    • +7

hey, at least he didn't say 'go easy it's my first post'-with some ozbargain members it's like waving a red flag to a bull!

    • +2

Heh Ive been watching this site for ages, no way would I say "go easy".

I might do it second post though, just to be different.

  • Anyone know what the best tyres are? Mine are pretty worn and need to get 4 new ones so might get in on this deal. I've got the i30 SR (sports model) which has 17" rims… Is 1 brand/model better over the other?

    • Whatever you end up getting, I recommend silica compound tyres. A bit more expensive but less road noise and they last longer.

    • +1

Kmart has a limited tyres range, I think Bridgestone RE92 will probably be your choice to go with the 17 rims (may already on your car as OEM…).

      • +1

actually they can order them in. Just tell them what you want and a competitors price and usually they will match it too

    • 'Best' is pretty subjective. As long as you stick to a decent brand (such as the Bridgestone, Dunlop and Goodyears as part of the deal) it's pretty hard to go too wrong.

    • Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Wouldn't expect them to be more than $400 each, and you get $100 fuel back!

  • I have been thinking yhe same. Which brand of tyres will be best for Nissan X-trail? Any idea. Thxs

    • What do you usually use your car for? Mainly highway driving? I did some research before on this and earlier in the year got the Bridgstone D683. It apparently had a good wear life before the need to change tyres (I want them to last a while between changes). This was from forums replies looking for long wear tyres. But the Yokohamas might be a better pick if you're after a softer compound, which means they'll wear faster but have better grip.

Are round wheels better than square ones? Is there a website with the benefits of each size so I can compare them?

    • +7

square wheels seem to work pretty well in Canada

      • +1

what a joyous occasion for Canada, and therefore the world.

  • +1

If you want improved grip and tyres life (especially on the older cars), then upgrade your rear swaybar. Makes a helluva difference.

Do you have bad experience changing tyres with Kmart?
    or Bob Jane is better?
If I am not mistaken, after half year, you can go back to Bob Jane to get wheel balancing for free.

Can Kmart price match Bob Jane?

    • Go to a Shell Kmart tyre and auto place, they are meant to be much better then the standalone places.

      • in what way? prices?

        • No, sorry I should have been clear.

From what I understand, Shell Kmart T&A's are much better quality and are run by the same quality that Shell used to be.

    • Good question.

I bought my last tyres from Bob Jane.
I utilised the free wheel change and balancing, its a good perk I must admit.
Would be nice if Kmart can match that.
But, I think Kmart tyres are cheaper.
Especially cheaper now due to my post :) $100 off.

Agree a wheel balance and tyre rotation thrown in would clinch it.

        • I wonder what's premium wheel balance.

        • The difference between standard and premium is still pretty vague after reading this:
          http://www.ktas.com.au/tyres/wheel-maintenance#wheel-balanci…

        • +2

i asked them about it, i was just told it's a different (better) technique of wheel balancing. he told me what the difference was, but to be honest i didn't really get it :)
          $5 extra per tyre.

        • +2

I'd hope it's either it's either balanced or it's not! So either the std version is crap or the premium is a con/ripoff. Can't be good either way lol

  • +1

Says at the bottom you get free fitting and standard computer wheel balance?

Anyone know what the cheapest 13 inch wheels would be?

    • I have an n13 pulsar with 13 inch wheels, but my size is one of the more expensive ones. 175 75 R13. But the cheapest I could get from a shell kmart tyre and auto in canberra about 1.5 years ago was $68 per tyre. I think many others are slightly less wide and therefore cheaper.

      • You want cheaper than $68 per tyre? Jeez… if only I could get $68 tyres for my size!! :)

      • +1

I have the same car and it's hardly worth the price of new tyres. I think I will just hunt around for some decent seconds.

  • Pity they don't sell motorbike tyres.

    • +2

      u need 4 Motorbike tires???
must be a strange looking bike mate lol

      • Might be a 2 bike family.

        • +2

          quad bike

      • +1

yup, mate and I both need a new set for our dual sports. We want the same tyres.

  • +1

$100 of fuel. that will be about 23 liters soon.

    • +5

      Whatever, $100 is still $100.

    • $100 will currently get me one full tank of petrol. It is insanity.

      • +1

        Depends on your car.

My tank is about $40 worth, and probably drives as far as your $100.

      • My BP $250 card lasted me 6 months on a Camry Altise!

        • +5

Is that because you kept forgetting to take it with you?

  • +1

Anyone found any $25 tyres yet? Any 1 inch tyres for my RC Car?

  • just got Goodyear assurance x4 ($107 each) + $45 wheel alignment + $100 cashback = did I get ripped off? how does this compare to the Goodyear Autocare deal where they were offering buy 3 get 4? Normally wheel alignment necessary when getting new tyres installed?
