This. Steam have a history of banning accounts that circumvent pricing by changing regions.

I don't think steam cards are region locked so you should be able to redeem by entering the code into your account. The currency will be converted in your wallet, though likely to be a poor exchange rate.

You need to change your billing region on your account I believe. So you'd either need a steam gift card or Indian cc to work.
where is a good place to get the giftcards for india ? aswell as can you gift games over?
And doing that can get your entire account banned from Steam permanently. Do not do that shit unless you want to risk your entire library.

I see some mention using another steam account? do I need to setup an account in India then gift to myself (to my normal Steam account?)
Did you simply login to your normal/active steam account via Indian VPN server and buy the game or did you need to create a secondary steam account in India and then gift it to yourself (normal steam account?)
Update: I just tried to connect via Indian VPN and noticed the price drop substantially however when I try to buy the game it asks you to login with your steam account at which point it puts the price back into AUD, so I'm assuming one has to create a fake Indian account and then also not use Paypal either?
I've set my account to buy using India address from day one so I get to pay less. Not sure if this will impact playing online.
