Unbelievable price under $1300 to Europe for Christmas/NY peak dates! A long stop over at Beijing, but transit hotels near the airport are very cheap and you can combine you Christmas/NY adventure to Europe with Beijing tour.

There are several dates, but I picked up the best available combination to cover all holidays.

  I flew with them several times, of course, not the best, but acceptable for this price. Food was ok, new planes, enough legroom, cabin crew never smiled, but I didn't really care

    I guess one experience could ruin or save your impression with one airline and that's fair. From news, we heard quite a bit violent stories with United. But my flight with them last year was quite good, even saw a staff member at the counter very patiently comforted an woman who was crying her heart out for some reason. Every one says Singapore Airline is the best, but on one of my flights with them, the staff were horrible. They even yelled at a little boy who was going to the toilet by himself, to go back to his seat. Soon, she realised how rude she was, tried to explain it away to passengers around her using turbulence as an excuse. But there was no turbulence felt by me, and the emergency light wasn't on. I didn't want to pin it on racism, but was very suss about it.
