      • Lol. I can’t even find the image on the website

  • Comes with free water too.

    • That’s good…

      • +7

But the water is also cursed …

It's giving me an error when I try to claim it pressing Confirm. "Sorry! An error occurred while processing your purchase.
Please try again in a few moments. If the problem persists, please contact us". What could be causing this? :(

      Starts tomorrow.

  • Does this start tomorrow or is it open now?

    • Sorry just read T&C's

This promotion commences on 17 April and expires at 11:59pm AEST on 7 May 2019

  • I wonder what time on the 17th will this promo begin? It seems just maybe this could be teamed with the current buy 3 books get $20 credit. Wich ends midnight on the 17th terms -

To be eligible for this promotion, you must be an Audible member and purchase three (3) audiobooks using credits or cash on audible.com.au by 11pm AEDT, 17 April 2019. Each audiobook purchased with cash must have a price of $9.95 or more to be an eligible purchase. Pre-order purchases must be released by the time the promotion ends to be deemed an eligible purchase. We will email you a $20 (incl. GST) Audible voucher (“Audible voucher”) by no later than 17 May 2019. You must redeem your voucher by 3 June 2019, by clicking the link in the email containing your voucher.

    • Did you manage to get the $20 credit? My sons & daughters account followed all the criteria but no $20 credit. Got a help response suggesting voucher was sent out on 17th May. Never got it though. Anyone else try?

  • +1

Wish they would do some free credits to existing members…

its honestly worth the effort to just keep making more email addresses for free trials..

    • +1

In the past we've cancelled and then taken up these sorts of offers.

    • +2

They used to offer you a discount if you tried to cancel your account - not sure if it still works?

      • +1

I just checked this on my membership and it offered 3 months @ $8 per month or 1 free credit to keep subscription

        • +3

I did the one free credit last night then used it, cancelled again straight after and they still offered me the $8/month. good times.

      • I have done that once. Few months ago now, its half price for 1 (or maybe up to 3?) i believe. But then it goes back to normal.

If I had a crystal clear memory of what books I had actually read (lsitened to) and finished I wouldnt need my account

      • +1

I've done this. Cancelled my account. No big deal, no penalties. Just signed up again for 6 months after an offer of 6 months for $8 per month. Figured this was pretty darn good.

Love Audible. Great App. Listen on the train, walking, and in particular, UBER trips :-)

  • Any recommendations for 3 great non-fiction Audiobooks?

    • These are the books that i have so far. Almost all are from free credits or deals.

somehow i managed to get 3 audible book just then..

    • +1

Yeah same, already working for me. And all 3 credits came at once.

    • you meant the deal is already active now?

  • Any recommended books apart from barefoot investor?

    • These are the books that i have so far. Almost all are from free credits or deals.

Thanks mate. I have a physical copy of the 7 habits of highly effective people (yet to start reading).

    • +1

What are you into? By your username check out Seveneves by Neal Stephenson.

    • WARNING - these are series so if you like them you'll be in for way more than 3 books.

Some fiction - the Bernie Gunther series, starts with March Violets

the Destroyermen series, starts with Into the Storm

The Aubrey-Maturin Series (aka Master and Commander) series, starts with Master and Commander

I've read all these bar last few of item 1 (which are def to be read) and thoroughly enjoyed them. Normally I loathe the practice (so prevalent in sci-fi and fantasy) of multibook series but these are good. I have a tiny worry that Destroyermen is descending into a stretched out money maker but the early novels are crackers at least.

I would strongly suggest an internet search to see if the overarching themes of these books suit your taste esp entry 3 (the best IMHO) as it will sadly be forever unfinished, Item 1 is somewhat similar perhaps.

Has anyone who recently cancelled, successfully signed up again under this deal

    • +3

Is that question only for time travellers?
      Deal starts tomorrow.

      • Comments earlier in the day had indicated that it was live early

    • +2

FWIW I signed up today with my existing account and got the deal. It had been inactive for about 6 months.

    • Yes just reactivated my account and got the 3 credits. I signed up initially to get the free dot and cancelled not long after.

    • +2

no luck for me - thinking to re-activate membership, but this deal says "The Audible free trial offer is only available to new members."

      • Can confirm. Cancelled yesterday. Wasn't offered a credit. Was offered $8 per month. Cancelled anyway and hoped I'd be able to sign-up for this. No dice.

The Audible free trial offer is only available to new members.

Not sure how existing subscribed members are claiming they were successful in redeeming the offer.

  • +2

Another way to get cheaper audiobooks is to look for the Kindle book to be on special and a lot of the time can add the audio narration (audiobook) for a couple of dollars. Usually works out half the monthly Audible price.

  • +1

Just used it on my existing subscription and got all 3 credits. My sub was paused though.

    • Mine is on hold too. So they give u 3 credits straight up? Will that activate the account?

  • Worked on my existing account as well.

  • I want to take this up and have an Audible AU account. The trouble is I've got an Audible US account (not active but have a few books I've bought in there last year). How easy is it to combine the accounts? and when should I do it? After the trail is over with AUS account? Thanks - I've been looking for a reason to pull the trigger on another paid Audible account… I've been listing to books when I go running :)

    • I don't even know if you can… I just signed up to the AU trial deal, logged in with my existing US account details, now I have two accounts and can't find any option to merge them both.

      • They are seperate, even offer different books. I signed on to Audible US because it had some books available that were not on Audible AU.

        • +1

Yeah I know they're separate, just thought you could still merge them somehow. Apparently it's supposed to prompt you to migrate when you login to the AU site, but I never got that. Are there different books without changing address? In the past I had to change my billing address to US on Amazon to be able to see books that aren't available in AU.

          • @unknown: I got Audible US because it was way cheaper - now price is better and also having Alexa I cant use US Audible with it

    • +1

On your phone, mine is iOS, once you log into an account the books remain on your phone after you log out and log into another account. I have both a US and AU one and they work together happily.

    • +3

Really easy to merge accounts. Just contact support on audible.com.au and they will do it. You can also exchange two books every six months with a closed account.

      • just as simple as asking for account merge? what if the US audible book I have is not available in AUS audible?

    • Don't bother. Just make a separate account. The US one gets more perks so keep that one after the trial ends.

  • +1

I'm pretty sure if you cancel you will lose the current credits so you need to time the cancellation just before they bill you again.

    • Cancel after you got the third free audiobook, and see if you score another credit during retention. There is no need to wait until the end of the 30 days when you have no more credit remaining in the account.

  • Not working with me via Amazon app. Saying 'oops something went wrong'
    Will try tomorrow.
    Thanks for the deal!

    • Just got 3 books! Awesome! Thanks again!

  • +1

Don't forget to get those free members-only audio shows in your account before the end of your trial.

  • I've just joined and downloaded my first book in the Audible Windowns 10 app, but can these be downloaded to your PC for us to listen to in the car on the daily commute?

Or do I need to use the Android app and bluetooth it to my stereo to achieve that?

    • +1

I just use the Android app and Bluetooth or android Auto

The Android app allow you to download the book to your phone no streaming

    • +1

I guess you could take your PC in your car, and possibly a generator… but Android device would be easier :P

      • +2

Argh! Now I have to move the computer back into the office and return the generator. Should have checked OzBargain first.

  • Can I cancel the membership straight away and keep the books? Do the downloaded books stay after ending the membership?

    • Once 'purchased' they are yours forever, You can cancel straight away without losing them.

  • Never use audible before. Does it say how long each book will take to finish?

  • So, you keep the books even when you cancel your account? Are they downloaded as a readable format onto your computer/Phone?

  • +1
  • Thanks OP, got 4 free audiobooks before cancelling the trial.

    • There's always one

  • +3

It didn't work for me. I have a lapsed membership.

    • +2

Just got an email from Audible: Come back for $1 for 1 month

  • +2

    Same
It didn't work for me. I have a lapsed membership

  • +1

Tried signing out of Amazon account that recently cancelled audible membership, saw the splash for three audiobooks, and click get started; sign into account and then get this

'The Audible free trial offer is only available to new members.'
'Get one audiobook of your choice per month. Audible is $16.45/mo'
    url ends with 'ref=adbl_dp_er_tr?cartError=trial'

signed in with different email address to get this trial, now to figure out how to get the audible.com library to audible.com.au

  • Audiobooks can be converted to mp3 with OpenAudible, so you can get a larger library by returning audiobooks and downloading more.
You can split the MP3 file into smaller chunks with Mp3DirectCut.
It's not as nice as having chapters but probably worth it as you get to hang onto a non-DRM audio file for future listening.

    • +2

I'm all for setting content free that you've legitimately paid for but it's a bit bloody rude to keep a book that you intend on returned that's rorting the system and is the reason that content creators inconvenience us all by locking content with DRM in the first place

      • true, no different to pirating

  • Got the 3 books 30 day trial using a recently cancelled .au membership

    • +1

What is "recently cancelled"? 1 month? 3 months? 6 months?
My account was cancelled few hours ago and i am getting:
The Audible free trial offer is only available to new members.

      • +1

I cancelled around mid-Feb and was able to take up the offer. I don't think a matter of hours will be enough.

  • Doesn't look like I can get the trail. Just get taken to the checkout page for the paid membership.

    • Same here:(

  • Do yourself a favour and get the title: I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes

    Great listening!

  • +1

Thanks OP, got all 3 credits immediately

  • Can anyone suggest a good free converter so i can use my existing reader please?

  • If you download an audio book, what format will it be in?
Will it disappear after you cancel the plan?

Also, I wonder..for books which have pictures to describe ideas, how would that work in audiobook world?

    • +1

Book stays with you after cancelling. Easiest is to use the audible app. Good app. Unsure about formats and pictures.

  • Trying to ozbargain the sh** out of this deal… Would it be possible to lend a friend my login data and they can download 'my' Audiobooks to their device and listen to them? This you could just share logins with friends and everyone can listen to a lot of audio books on their way to work ;)

    • Be aware that often your audible login is also your Amazon login so you have to trust the person. Having said that my brother, a best friend and parents are all logged into my one audible account.
Even listening to the same book is not a problem it just pops up and states do you want to go to last recorded listening position press no and it will continue where you are listening from instead of where your mates up too.
If you want to go full legit Audible have family listening account options available.

      • Thanks.

  • can you transfer books from one account to another?

    • No, you can sometimes gift books using starter credits but not this time - I just tried it.

  • +2

For anyone who couldn't get the trial, try again.

I was taken to the checkout page for the paid membership previously, but today it gave me the page to start the trial with 3 free books.

    • Comment of the DAY !!!! Thank You

I cancelled my membership the day this deal was posted 16/4 and was not eligible tried every day for the next 3, not eligible.
Today I saw your comment tried again yippeee 3 credits :D

    • Tried again and it worked this time.

  • I tried several times over several days and it didn't work. (Account closed in Feb 2019). After reading the success of those whole closed accounts a few days ago I tried harder. So I opened up an incognito tab, and used that to log into amazon.com.au. Then opened the deal from this listing, and it worked.

    • Doesn't work with your method.

The Audible free trial offer is only available to new members.
