Nice find! Although I didn't need it, I got 2, just to make sure I have points ready.

  • Good price for australia but its cheaper still on ebay i believe

    • +2

Microsoft Points are region locked. You can't get them any cheaper than this, even on eBay.

      • are US points cheaper than this on ebay? i've got 2 accounts one US and one Aus

edit nvm i was only looking for points for the rock band store and the rock band network store doesn't work for aus accounts, so it doesn't matter anyway

bought 2 just so when I do need them, I dont need to pay full price

  • thanks for the post… grabbed one incase i ever need it.
delivery will probs take forever but im in no rush so pos vote from me

    • Last time I ordered (about 2 weeks ago), it took 3 days to get to Melbourne. Time before that was approx 4 weeks, so I think it depends if they actually have them in the Fishpond warehouse or if they have to order them in.

  • -1

What no one complaining about Fishpond yet?

In anticipation what usually happens when ever someone posts a Fishpond deal - Ive had good follow up service from these guys and had no orders buggered around

    • I've had 1 order buggered (longer than expected delivery, but they kept me notified of ETA with a chance to cancel), and about 10 without a hitch.

  • Funny cause in the email that I got it said $35.97… But good deal at $36.15 non the less.
And is it me or does Fishpond not offer tracked delivery anymore? My last two deliveries came untracked (shipped from Melbourne). (They used to use eParcel).

  • +1

Great price. It rarely gets this cheap. I don't mind waiting up to a month for postage at these prices.

  • +1

Cheers for the heads up grazer! As has been said above, I don't care if it takes a few weeks to get here because I've saved myself $26.70 on 6000 points :D

  • Good find, bought two.

  • Caveat Emptor: Fishpond are notoriously unpredictable when it comes to delivery times.

That's about as balanced as I can get it.

  • It's now listed as $35.98.
OP you might want to fix that :] (instead of me posting up a new thread)

    • Done. Thanks

      • $35.98 mate not $35.89, thought I'd fix you up on that before others come on and go
        "OOOOHHH NNNNOOO MY 9 CENTS!!!"
        =]

        • "OOOOHHH NNNNOOO MY 9 CENTS!!!"

        • I've updated it again. Any you would be seriously cut if you paid $35.98, because now it's even cheaper! $35.97!

  • should of voted negatively… just bought 6 of em… rofl

always jump on these when they're cheap as i loooove my XBLA and DLC :D

  • Thanks, I got 2!

  • 32.39 now - already bought 2 but got extra one

I'm pretty cut tho because was at 28.49 when i first saw it and while deciding whether to buy 3 or 4 went up to 32.39 :(

    Shattered

  • Has anyone's cards arrived yet?

Are we expecting the usual long fishpond delay?

    • Nope not mine, looks like Fishpond are still continuing their form with their atrocious delivery times.

      • The cards I ordered on the 21/05/2011 haven't arrived yet but strangely the cards I ordered on 31/05/2011 arrived today (they were $39, not as cheap as the first batch I ordered but still cheap).

    • Mine still haven't arrived, and it's been two and a half weeks :\ (12 business days)
"We anticipate delivery between Monday and Wednesday." …yeah, right. Of what week?!

  • Now the 14/06, no delivery. No wonder people piss and moan about Fishpond. I've learned my lesson.

    • Same story here. Postman just came past - no MS points :(

  • Just sent an email to Fishpond. Lets see what they say.

    • "If it hasn't arrived by 15/06/11 please email us and we will re-order or refund this item for you, and make a claim for the missing parcel."

  • Ahh glad to see it's not just me who hasn't received their card. I was thinking it must just be only mine that got lost in the mail. I also preordered Duke Nukem through Fishpond months ago, which was supposedly sent off last week. Here's hoping that actually shows up too.

    • +1

      I'm glad I didn't preorder that 10 years ago.

  • still waiting on mine too.

Xbox 360 Genuine Live 3000 Microsoft Points Card was dispatched on 26/05/2011,

Expect delivery between 31/05/2011 and 02/06/2011. Your order was sent in the post and is not tracked. Please allow up to 10 working days before contacting us should your order fail to arrive.

    FAIL is the right word….

  • Hey guys, same story here. I ordered mine on the 21/05, it was sent on the 26/05 and I still haven't received it.

How could they screw up so many orders?

"Xbox 360 Genuine Live 3000 Microsoft Points Card" was dispatched on 26/05/2011,

Expect delivery between 30/05/2011 and 01/06/2011. Your order was sent in the post and is not tracked. Please allow up to 10 working days before contacting us should your order fail to arrive.

    • I have the exact same problem. I reckon this is absolute crap. I have only ever had issues with fishpond, especially regarding delivery time. Dont think I will ever be using them again in future.

With service this bad how do they even think they can be compared to Amazon? Even if their prices are guaranteed to be better than amazon the service sucks compared to amazon.

  • same problem haven't received my points card either. sent/dispatched on the 26/05

  • I submitted a lost parcel notice and request for the item to be replaced. I'm very annoyed… I'm going to have to buy some points from microsoft in the meantime. What the hell fishpond, you suck!

  • Yep, same story here. Was apparently shipped on 26/05/11 with anticipated delivery between 30/05/11 and 01/06/11. Sent an email two days ago, here's the reply:

"Thank you for your enquiry and order at Fishpond.com.au

We have been advised that the shipment containing your order has been delayed at the Australian Post Office and we now expect it to arrive by 17/06/2011.

Please accept our sincere apology for the delay and inconvenience caused."

  • yea sent these guys an email two days ago and they replied

"We have been advised that the shipment containing your order has been delayed by Australia Post. We are working with our freight forwarders, and expect it to clear in the next 3-5 working days.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused by this delay."

  • Same here. Ordered on 21/5, said to have been shipped on 27/5 and now told that I might expect it between 20-24/6.

To be honest, I am not expecting it at all now after reading a bit more about fishpond's "operations". I don't think I will bother with them again, deals or no deals.

  • I just received the same email…. Interesting considering the last email i got started with

    Hooray! Today we sent you:

    And then todays email says

We have been informed by our mail supplier that the shipment your order may have been travelling on was delayed. If your order hasn't arrived already, we now expect your item(s) to arrive between 20/06/11 and 24/06/11.

If my order was already posted as the first email claimed then the second email shouldnt even apply to me.

I wont be shopping with fishpond again no matter what they offer and if they refund the money I will be complaining to the appropriate person especially since fishpond have a habit of this.

Australias version of amazon???? Not gonna happen.

  • Yep got this email too. Useless idiots.

  • I'm just glad they haven't cancelled my order yet. I said I don't mind waiting a month at these prices and seems I'm going to have to wait at least that long.

    • +2

Yeah but when you wait a month and they then refund it what are you going to do? Seems dodgy.

Would be an easy way to make money though if a company did do that. Sell the items to people, once they pay invest the money, make some cash and then send the refund through. Do this on a few items each month and you'll make a few bucks over time i reckon

    • My 'useless idiots' comment was more directed at the fact that their records show I have only ordered one set of 3000 points when I actually ordered, and clearly paid for, two. Also irritated that they are insulting everyone's intelligence by lying about the "mail supplier" being delayed.

  • This is BS. I've advised them to refund my money (2x 3000 point cards). If they do not respond, I'll put in a PayPal claim.

This company should be banned from OzBargain.

  • This is beyond a joke now.

    • "Expect delivery between 23/06/2011 and 05/07/2011."

      What the ****

  • I've submitted a complaint through Paypal. If this is an option for you, I suggest that you do the same,. Fishpond are a scam site.

    • They've revised the delivery date and that hasn't gone by yet, so I have no reason to cancel. It's not like I can get the points any cheaper. I ordered a bulk lot though, I would be more annoyed if I was only waiting for one card.

      • They just keep revising the delivery date until they pass the magic 45 day mark, after which you cannot put in a Paypal claim.

        • I bought with mastercard debit card, hopefully I can do a chargeback. I will wait until friday.

        • I just noticed that they've changed the dispatch date again, now it says they dispatched on the 21st and to expect it between today and the 5th.. Are they just going to keep changing the dates? Sooo dodgy. How can they do this?

  • Yeah, this is hopeless. They said it'll come by 25/06/11. I just hope it comes by Tuesday, so I can get a DLC. Never again.

  • I'm in the same boat, I emailed them and they revised it to come this week. I've been waiting more than a month now. They said there was a delay with the mail shipment provider, the cynic in me thinks that they are lying and didn't send it at all.

Hopefully it comes now because I want to spend some on the deal of the week on Xbox Live, which is actually good this time round.

  • After receiving the same set of emails as everyone else (expect delivery by 24/6/2011) and not receiving the card today, I've emailed Fishpond and asked them to cancel my order and immediately refund my credit card through Paypal. I'll update here once I receive a response. If I don't get a response I'll dispute the transaction through Paypal — it's getting close to the 45 day limit.

  • Third delay, supposed to arrive by today. No arrival. I like how I would have to apply for return because the status of my item is "shipped" despite it being obvious that they haven't shipped anything.

I am considering putting in an official complaint to the ACCC re: accepting payment and not intending to supply. Basically it also covers accepting payment when the seller ought to be reasonably aware that they will be unable to supply. This bull about "shipping issues" stinks. AFAIK the ACCC most likely would not act directly on my behalf but I know for a fact that fishpond is a "known entity" to the ACCC. There has also been ACCC action taken against computer/tech traders pulling similar stunts.

    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/916537/fro…

  • Yeah I have sent them a very harsh email. If they don't get back to me within a day I'm claiming through PayPal. Interest free loans from their customers - pretty good deal for them hey?

  • Does anyone have any experience trying to get a refund when disputing a transaction through Paypal? I'm just wondering what the chance is I get any money back from this whole endeavour.

    • Ok, I didn't get any response from Fishpond in the last 24 hours, despite the fact they have been very quick in responding to my emails previously, at all times of the day. So I've raised the issue formally through Paypal. I have to escalate the issue within 20 days if it's not resolved by then.

  • I'm going to give them till next friday. If it doesn't arrive by then, I'm filing a paypal dispute.

    • Keep in mind you only have 45 days after the transaction to raise the issue with Paypal. Also, raising the issue with Paypal doesn't semm to be a big deal - they then give you and the seller 20 days to sort the issue out, during which time you can escalate the issue and ask Paypal to investigate and make a final decision.

      • Filing a dispute has worked for me before, so hopefully it will work out again. Order date was 21/05/11, which gives me till 05/07/11.

  • Email back from Fishpond saying that due to the Chilean Volcan, it would be another 3-5 days or I could get a refund.

    I asked for refund.

According to their own policy, if their products are marked as "shipped" you can't get a refund, you have to do a return. The various emails lead me to believe that the item hasn't been shipped at any point despite being told in at least 3 separate emails that it was shipped and then delayed.

    • I'd be interested to hear from you if you get any further emails from Fishpond now that you've asked for a refund. In my experience and others', it seems that they're prompt and courteous in replying to emails until you actually ask for a refund, after which you don't hear anything back at all.

  • We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologise that your order has failed to arrive within the expected time frame. It appears that this parcel has gone missing in the mail.

Please let us know if you would like a refund or replacement by submitting a claim form. Please login to your account then visit the link below.

So frustrating! Do Fishpond deals qualify for an automatic neg now?

  • Surely their conduct is against ACCC (or NZ equivalent) standards. Clearly they are full of s**t and lying about shipping as people who ordered on different days have all had their packages disappear.

Frankly they should just email the bloody codes and not jerk us around with 'lost shipping'. My guess is they get a deal from asia, advertise and sell it, have shipment from asia delayed/cancelled then make us foot the bill and trouble. Either that or they don't cap their sales and so some will get it while others dont.

And lool chilean volcano - bet they were happy when that came around and could blame it for shipments 'made' days prior

  • +1

Ok guys, I can finally confirm that Fishpond actually did send the cards. Received it this morning. Funnily enough, it seems they were telling the truth after all. Mine was packed on 26/05/11 and was sent from Banksmeadow, NSW. 33 days for postage within the same state.

    • +1

Dang that Chilean volcano stopping the road transport in NSW!

If it arrives, I will happily send it back to them. They will need to reimburse me for postage though …

      • +1

Haha lol not sure why they blamed the chilean volcano, but why not just cancel the refund and keep it? it's still a good deal if you receive it

    • +1

That's great news. Mine was also sent on the 26th, so here's hoping it's in the mailbox when I get home.
That said, I live in Victoria not NSW- so if it takes 33 days for postage within the same state, I wonder how long it will take INTERstate.

    • I can also confirm I received my two cards today with the same date packed - 26/05/11. I sent them an email ten days ago because I hadn't received it at the time and they said they sent another one, so I wonder if I'll get two extra cards in another 30 days. I live in the same city from where it was posted from, so its bizarre the postage times are so long, I've received packages from the UK quicker…

      • My 20 cards arrived today or maybe late yesterday. Says packed by Mike on 26/05/11. I can't tell when it was actually shipped since there are no postage marks. Maybe Mike misplaced them. Sure it took over a month to arrive but if they ever sell at this price again, I will buy them. I just hope Mike has learnt how to ship items or whoever messed up. Maybe it really was out of fishpond's control.

The box was beaten up like it had been traveling around for a while (not that I care since point cards are indestructible).

  • Well I just received my refund from Fishpond. Looks like raising the issue through Paypal worked. Here's the email they sent:

"We appreciate your patience and apologise that your order has failed to arrive; it appears that this parcel has gone missing in the mail.
As requested we have refunded your payPal account and we will lodge a claim for the missing parcel."

I checked and indeed I have received a refund to my Paypal account. It's interesting that some people are starting to get the cards in the mail now, but I can't understand why it's taken so long for them to arrive. And the fact they quote such a short shipping time when ordering is unacceptable. If they just explained the situation honestly, whatever it is, I would have been happy to wait a couple more weeks for the card to arrive.

  • Update: Package actually arrived today. Fishpond sent an email earlier saying my account would be re-credited and if the package turned up I could choose to return or re-process the transaction. Flip-flopping on my earlier statement (hey, it's the internet!) I will keep and re-pay as I can see the return process being a nightmare.

Last time I use fishpond though, guaranteed.

  • Hey guys, just letting everyone know that I finally received my package on Friday (1/7). I live in Victoria.
As with proringz, mine also said that it was sent on the 26th..
Anyway, hopefully everyone else has got theirs by now too.
I'm off to spend some points!
