    sitewide & sellected? Which one?

Edit: This page may have moved or is no longer available.

    • +1

A bit of an oxymoron eh

    • 'Sitewide' refers to categories (no doubt the usual real estate, vehicle, bullion etc. exclusions apply)
'Selected' referring to sellers i.e. the discount looks like it will only apply to items sold by 'Top Rated' sellers.

Do you go to a Chinese restaurant and ask, "Sweet & sour? Which one?" ?

      • -3

It's a valid question, as it cannot be both.

        • -1

I beg to differ - I've enjoyed dishes that are concurrently sweet and sour.

          • +4

@dm01: Beg all you want, this is a deal for eBay, not Chinese cuisine.

            • +5

@magic8ballgag: Allow me to bear the mental burden and unpack this concept for you.

One can easily imagine visiting a physical store - for example, Kmart - and seeing a sign on the way in saying "10% off selected children's clothing". If you were wanting to purchase children's clothing, or wandered through that section of the store, you might keep an eye out for items marked as 10% off.

On a different day you might visit that same Kmart store and see a sign saying "10% off selected items storewide", and so whichever departments you visit in the store, you'd be on the lookout for items marked as 10% off.

Now, see if you can follow me as we apply the same concept to eBay's online store.

You visit eBay.com.au and see advertised "10% off selected items in children's clothing categories" - if browsing in those categories you might keep an eye out for these discounted items.

Likewise, on another day you might visit eBay.com.au and see advertised…wait for it…"10% off selected items sitewide", and thus we arrive at the type of promotion the OP has brought to our attention here today.

It's really not a difficult concept to grasp.

                • @magic8ballgag: Ah yes, the ol' "I have no point to argue, I'll just say it's different" position. It's what I expected.

                  • +1

                    @dm01: Okay, I'll bite.

OP used both 'eligible items' and 'sitewide' in the description, Jamesx questioned which one it is, which is fair as it can't be both, to which you replied your nonsensical rubbish.

Sure, of course 'sweet & sour' dish can be both. However, an eBay sale can only be 'sitewide' or 'selected sellers', hence the question from Jamesx.

Feel free to use the search function to verify this with every % off eBay deal ever posted.

                    • @magic8ballgag:

OP used both 'eligible items' and 'sitewide' in the description

Of course it can be both - 'eligible items' is the what, 'sitewide' is the where - they're not mutually exclusive terms. If you want to argue against the English language go right ahead but I can't see you getting far.

                    • @magic8ballgag: Ah guys, you know sweet and sour are not opposites right?

Also, make love, not war. Peace out

                      • @plague69: "But how can it be sweet and sour?"

                        • -2

@dm01: No one ever asked or insinuated that, so try and stay on topic.

@dm01: That was a statement, not a question as you originally made out below:

"But how can it be sweet and sour?"

                              Keep trying.

  • +1

Yes,found that code at 10am. all my listings over $120 items are now 10% off.Keep them coming eBay.

    • +5

Checked some items, working for Aussie sellers' not from overseas.

      • Just tried on a couple of items with the same result, wonder if the is the "Eligible" criteria?

    • Stupid question I know, but it's all individual items over $120, not total spend. I assume it's the former, not the latter…

      • terms pagedoesnt load. you need to wait or trial it

      • +3

Just tried it on two items combined and it worked.

        • Thank you!

        • Tried it on an order over $135 (but with two sellers) and it told me I didn't reach the minimum :(

          • +1

@slacktech: That would mean one or both items don't qualify.

            • @dm01: Ah, of course! I love these 'sitewide with exceptions' codes!!

  • +5

This code can't be applied to your order.

    Must be eligible items.

  • +2

Also 10 items max per transaction. Have used it for 3 transaction so far and it's still valid for my account

  • +5

Pretty sure the neg was not for you or against you but Ebay's lack of good recent deals compared to last years

  • +1

I've got $122 in my cart (all Australian sellers and free shipping) and it says:

We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total.

    • +2

I've got $122 in my cart (all Australian sellers and free shipping) and it says:

Please ensure they are all Top Rated Sellers.

      • Thanks for the reply, but how do you know it only applies to 'top rated' sellers without the t&c? Also, how do I check if a seller is 'top rated' or not?

        • Because this is how it's worked for the last couple of promo codes.

        • +3

          Hi Evil-Elmo,

The same t&c as the last time.

I'm top rated seller and all my listings $120+ qualified for 10% off code.

how do I check if a seller is 'top rated' or not?

You will see Take 10% off this item [ Show me how ] when you clicked on an item from top rated seller.

          Hope this helps.

          Have a wonderful weekend :)

The negs are not personal for any big discount deal involving eBay, so don't worry about it.

  • +1

    Hurry

    Sure.

  • Tried on an item from Myer and it worked.

    • Doesnt work on ereaders from myer though

  • We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total. Even though my cart is 600+

  • +1

Going to be a problem finding eligible items , not working on lots of categories .

  • +1

I believe the Koala in "PKOALA" indicates this relates only to Aussie sellers.

EDIT. Still, looks like only selected Aussie sellers.

    • +1

      Only Aussie "Top Rated Sellers"

      • NO OFFICEWORKS.. :(

Looks like not a top rated sellers?

        • +1

Historically Officeworks don't participate in these sales in order to maintain pricing consistency across selling outlets.

          • -1

@dm01: Officeworks would rather charge you more, than have someone else (eBay, in this instance) help you out with some of the bill. Even though they would receive the same amount in both scenarios.

            • @Charity: Officeworks would rather not have customers coming in to their physical stores asking them to price match promo-discounted items on eBay.

  • +1

    Looks like no car parts

    • Tried a top rated car parts seller, no luck with the code :(

  • Yes looks like a few things work but not sitewide.

  • 7% the other day worked on most categories and was gold compared to this heavily restricted 10% code on eligible items .

Be nice to know what is eligible criteria ?

  • Couldn't post a new deal as I'm getting the "L and P-platers are prohibited from posting deals for Myer" message, but some big lego sets are going for a good price with this code:

    Lego Millennium Falcon 75192 ($935.96): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LEGO-Star-Wars-Millennium-Fa…

    LEGO Death Star 75159 ($575.96): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LEGO-Star-Wars-Death-Star-75…

    LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron 42083 ($431.99) : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LEGO-Technic-Bugatti-Chiron-…

    • lol A thousand bucks for a lego set! Your kids are going to love it, but wow! Wait, it is for your kids, right?

      • +2

Feck no, I would be buying the UCS Falcon for myself. They can save up for it themselves if they want one, daddy likes big boys toys as much as anyone else

  • +1

Thanks OP. Just used on chemist warehouse ebay. Got free postage on fragrances.

Edit: Make sure you compare with their website for prices, I think some are more expensive on ebay store

  • Sparesbox 98.4% not top rated?

    • Don't think car parts are included. Prices are cheaper on their website anyway.

  • Car parts excluded again. What a joke.

  • Trying to get this deal…but code doesn't apply.

It is hikvision Security Camera system for home.

  • Even though everyone negged me for my first post

OP; people didn't neg you, they negged the deal. Please don't take it personally :)

  • Well the the only difference of the last OP deal is 5 % more .

Same problem as the last deal , few items working only . Most not so I guess that extra 5% of nothing is keeping the neg guys away lol .

  • -8

no codes for collectables etc ?

  • Trying to purchase a Pocophone but every single one I've tried with code not working. All high rated Aussie sellers too.

  • Anyone figured out what eligible items are?

    • +1

Its confusing at best. No indication, no T&C, just random luck.

  • ‘Eligible Items’ means all items listed on eBay.com.au where these terms and conditions are found and the coupon redemption code PKOALA is displayed in the item listing.

So all items on Ebay COULD have the prized coupon on it lol if t@c's are qualified . Enjoy the Easter egg hunt .

  • +1

Thanks OP. You saved me some money on a purchase.

  • +1

I gave up trying to use this code. This promotion left me more frustrated with eBay than likely to buy.

  • Is there a limitation like how many times can be used in an account?

    • Yes, 4 times.

  • it this still working

    • Yes I can still apply it to an item that is eligible

  • I used this and got 3 x AOC Q3279VWFD8 32" LED LCD Monitor QHD @ $269 Inc Shipping each.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AOC-Q3279VWFD8-32-LED-LCD-Gaming…

  • This finally worked for me. Seems totally random though.

    • Sadly it doesn't work for the item i want to buy. damn ebay……
