Sony Online Store currently has both colour versions of the Sony XM3 NC BT headphone at $429 each, still quite a bit more than most deals.

However, when combined with AMEX Sony cashback deals ($50 off $300, $150 off $600) that expire 17 May, it can be had at $658 for 2 ($329 each).

On top of that, if you are travelling overseas soon, you could be eligible to a GST refund of $39 each, making the final cost of $290 each headphone.

Get Sony to price match JB Hi-Fi if you're going down the Amex route, brings it to $590 for 2 ($295 each).

    • How do you get price match when buying online? Or can these be bought at some brick and mortar Sony store?

      • The latter. As a Melburnian however, there’s no Sony stores for you where you can take advantage of this offer

        • There’s a Sony shop nunawading across from JB Hi-Fi

          • @Dex38313: Read the terms and conditions of the Amex offer …

            • @kerfuffle: Yes sadly can’t buy at the Nunawading store.

Special partners offer of $384.97 (education account?)

    • I tried signing up with my uni email in the past, but I can't see education pricing. Does it only work with some universities?

      • Maybe try signing up through here? https://store.sony.com.au/education.html

        • That's the link I followed when signing up. Clicking on it again only takes me to My Account. It says "You must have current and valid ID from an Australian secondary or tertiary education provider" but I wasn't asked for one when I signed up. Oh well, guess I'll just wait for the next XM3 bargain post

  • If you buy one, you still get $50 off?
So $379 (or $345 with JB price match)

    This is no deal.

  • Ok if you were always going to get 2 of them. Suppose you could always sell the other one on FB or GT.

  • There is an issue with the maths. 2x429=858. Take $150 off that is $708!

and another $50, if you have signed up for the 50 off 300 offer as well. There is a thread in OzB where it has been confirmed that the offers stack.

      • Wow didn’t realise that!

  • If someone is travelling internationally , they can buy these for 363 at Duty Free. I bought from the departures, not sure about availability at arrival.

For a single purchase turns out cheaper.

    • That's just $400 duty free I presume.

      • I might have missed your point, sorry!

I am eligible for student offer which reduced it to 285 each, does anyone has a Amex card and willing to order together with me in Sydney?

    • How did get get the student offer from Sony? :) I've tried with my uni email, but didn't see any discounted pricing

    • I am, can you PM me?

    • Can you please show us how that comes to $285? I've registered as student but can't see $285 offer as well

      • It's only 285 if you stack with the amex offer. The Sony edu site will bring the price down to 385.

    • I can do it, so PM me if you're in Sydney.

      • looks like the sony price is back to 55x

      • You need to enable "Allow private messages" to allow PM

        • thanks, didn't know I had to do that, just enabled them =)
