  Needing to rent a car in June. Just did a search on vroomvroomvroom and Hertz is $43 dearer than a competitor for the same type of car :S

    You should always use a PC or CDP code when booking with hertz. I use my employer's, but you can search for lists of hertz codes online.

  Fyi unlike anz rewards black/platinum, amex velocity platinum complimentary travel insurance does not cover vehicle rental excess.

    If you spend over $500 on your trip prior to travel on airfare/hotel/another activities, then your ANZ Insurance will be activated.

    You can still enjoy this AMEX credit.

    A tip, next time go for “no cancellation fee” car hire and such as the one available with Virgin https://www.virginaustralia.com/cn/en/specials-offers/offers… and then shop/wait for offers. Of course this assumes you have sufficient time between booking and the actual hire.
