I Need Cheap Haircut in Sydney CBD

I wouldn't mind walking from Central down to Circular Quay end.

I don't mind what race cuts my hair as long as it's good and below < $20.

Taroo cuts is getting expensive now.

last I went, asked for undercut and 2 lines, nuna wanted to charge me $5 for the lines; talked my way through it and no charge.

Don't want to negotiate all the time for a undercut disconnected line.

Would you say wanting an 'undercut with 1 disconnected line' fancy for barber caliber?

      • It's more work than a typical crew cut.

        • true but won't be much work … i would have thought it's quite standard practice for barber these days.

          • @tempura: Maybe so, but <$20 wouldn't be the standard barber price these days. If you want a more difficult cut, expect to pay more, If you want to pay less, expect to only get a simple cut. Probably can't have both.

            • -3

@tryagain: I wouldn't be asking it here if there's no other way; there's always a way in the ozb community.

              • @tempura: Yes, but they inevitably involve a trade-off, ie time spent getting one at a Tafe, or not getting the line. You could always try to DIY the line as well.

Update your avatar after your haircut. I want to know what this disconnected line thing is.

    • there's disconnected line in the full pic but was trimmed

come to hunter street arcade in Wynyard now, i'll do it for 5 bucks
I have a few different sizes bowls, can make it layered too

    • -2

I don't buy this … bowls are for eating.

      • +1

They were the trend back in the 70's and 80's.

        • +3

We can't be friend then .. big age gap.

          • +1

@tempura: Agreed, we can't be friends.

You need to find yourself a girl friend that is a hairdresser. Will save you thousands of dollars over the years.

            • +3

@kevsta: She will decide what style OP gets and I guarantee it won't be this "disconnected line" BS.

              • -1

@smartazz104: Disconnected line is not a bullshit. I don't understand the need for profanity here. Try it, you will like it. I was like you once, non believer.

                • +1

@tempura: “Try it, you will like it. I was like you once, non believer.”

Huh? Where does Jesus fit into this? Anyway, didn’t he just let his hair grow out naturally?

                  • -1

@Ozpit: I can't believe you brought religion into this; you should be ashamed.

                    • +2

@tempura: And you brought race into it

                      • -1

@iTaco: You been waiting in the corner to bash me? Were you that agro because of last night? Just because I called you taco ?

                        • +1

                          @tempura: fight fight fight!

                        • @tempura: Lol bash you? How deluded are you? Small brain syndrome

                          • @iTaco: you're right, you're a Taco … what was I thinking!.

            • +3

@kevsta: Nah, the saving will be offseted by the 'maintenance' cost for the girlfriend.

you sound like an lb and hence will be attending mm. stop being a cheapskate, cough up a bit more for a fresh fade and line and increase your chances of a cb. Dont skimp on this shit bro.

    • don't need to cough up more; skimp or don't skimp, it no matters, lg.

    • what's ib, mm, cb?

      • It's a lower case L

  • I like italics. I like this thread.

    • We can be friend

      OP said race doesn't matter.

Sydney Barbers - Hunter connection. $20

    • -2

I need to contact the shop; did you do style cut or crew cut?

      • enough mate

      • Pretty sure it's $15 for a buzz cut, $20 for general style cut, and $25 for a fade

    • I use these guys as well. Good cut, well priced and nice quick service; in and out without much wait.

      • $25 for a fade … that's the killer … right there!

        • Right where?

          • -1

@sharka: If I was your boss, I wouldn't have hired you; try to meet the brief.

            • @tempura: If you were my boss, you would not be talking about wanting disconnected lines…
That is a major business disruption in our industry…boss

              • @sharka: Have you had your coffee yet? You seem a bit disgruntled this morning. Are you okay?

  • A short walk from Central, Broadway Barber Shop

    • This looks interesting; do they charge more for style cut (other than crew cut)?
I don't mean that shark image carved onto the boy's head (as shown in their Facebook photos); nothing like that .. perhaps 2 or 3 lines like Devin Booker or undercut fade one to zero with surgical line

      • +1

Drop by if you have time or best to give them a call to check pricing.

    • How much do they charge?

      • Apparently $15 to $20 not sure if they speak modern barber jargons.

  • Kim Sun Young

  • Bottom end of the central station long walk way tunnel below George St. $12

    • I'll walk there today and survey. Thank you!

    • It's Shiny Hairdressing. Isn't it?

      • Yes,it is. Have you been there?

  • Central Station in the square off Eddy Avenue opposite Gong Cha. It was about $12-$14 for clippered #1.5 sides and spikey scissor cut on top.

    • I'll walk there today and survey. Thank you!

  • +5

As my friend used to say "spend $10 on a haircut, spend another $20 on a hat"

    • There's an old saying 'you don't try, you'll never know'

    • My Mum was a hairdresser and couldn't cut men's hair very well. She always said "There's only a week between a good haircut and a bad one" She never mentioned the blood from where she snipped our ears.

      • Your mum should know better; i stand corrected. I thought it was 2 weeks.

  • +4

Is it Friday yet. My head hurts.

    • That head massages sometimes can be strong; i got headaches sometimes from it. You need to tell them to soften a tad.

  • +4

Don't children get charged less for haircuts OP?

    • -2

Normally that would be the case, however try to work that brain a little. Here goes lesson of the day for you: 'always compare apples to apples'; when you start comparing apples to oranges, then I start to wonder why you're in ozb.

      • +2

I don’t know about Hardlyworkin, but I’m wondering why I’m on ozb right now.

    • +3

Hardlyworkin, I got your joke, OP obviously didn't ;).

      • -1

Don't think you get either of us to be honest.

  • +1

    "Undercut and 2 lines"

Are we in 1991? Are you Vanilla Ice?

    • +1

Devin Booker still sports that look; he's my lifestyle idol.

      • I'm sorry to hear that since he's far from a stylish guy.

Also, kudos for not being touchy and figuring out that I was just taking the p*ss.

You're a good sport and that gets a + vote from me.

      • no need to involve Booker here

        He's my mate

      • +1

Do you think Booker pays $10 for a hair cut? Reckon he pays a lot more then that and probably feels insulted that he is seen to have a $10 haircut.

        • You're a Suns fan bud?

          • -1

@Taro Milk Tea: Nah and not really a Booker fan either, average player on a bad team so appears to be better then he is.

            • @iTaco: With that username, how can he not be related to Arizona.

              • @tempura: ?
                Related?
                What?

                • @iTaco: It was late yesterday, mate … i had few drinks … i'm not sure why I typed that.

  • +2

I'm pretty sure if you go buy $2 scissors from $2 shops and bring your razor, hand them to some hobo or drunk in CBD, they might be able to do it for $5.. so that's like $7 all up. Or do a trade up where you cut their hair and they cut yours and SAVE ON THE $5!

Whether it will be good or to your description depends on your luck (it maybe a hobo with super barber skills!)

    • +1

      You been drinking again?

    • They might hit a jugular.

  • +1

    Troll thread is troll

    • say whatever you want to say but this is a genuine thread of tempura wanting to get cheap hair cut.

    • +1

      Did you call my name?

  • I can highly recommend the place in Spring Street near Wynyard Station. They offer $10 cuts on Monday's, it's not advertised on the outside but go in and ask if they still offer that promotion, it's been going for years.

Lot's of guys in the office go especially on Monday's and they still give it to us for $10. Some guys get more complex cuts and they don't seem to mind. I think their normal price is around $18.

    • Grand Royal Barber?

    • Nothing in Spring St suggest $18 price for a cut.

      • As I said no idea what their regular price is as we all go on Monday's. It's a Barber, could be that one. If you are close go in on Monday and ask.

        • There's 2 barbers in Spring St; how can you not know the name of the shop if you regularly visit the shop on Monday?

          • @tempura: If YOU need the cheap haircut, make the bloody effort yourself.

The sense of entitlement is unbelievable.
