I just bought one last night after checking reviews for the UE Boom/Megaboom 3 and JBL Flip/Charge 4. Going to use it as a portable and shower speaker.

    Bass heavy units stink. Give me something with neutral emphasis so I can hear the music as it was intended.

            @automated: Depends on the music app. YMMV, but options for good folder based players with equalizer are limited.

            Regardless, I shouldn't need to "undo" bass accentuation. It should be up to the end users to increase base accentuation via equalizer if they want their music distorted. The onus is back-to-front.

            But hey, maybe I misread the info and it doesn't accentuate it. I could definitely be wrong.

      I have the Charge 3 and don't find it bass heavy. It's just capable of producing a decent base. I don't think they're EQ'd to increase the lows.

    Heads up we returned ours as it has known Bluetooth issues. This was when it first came out so check if recent firmware fix these issue before buying.
