Click 8W LED Bunker Lights $5 Each ($9.98/2-Pack): Oval (510 Lumen) or Round (560 Lumen) @ Bunnings

50

Was in Bunnings Morley (WA) for the $20 security light (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/448988) and saw these.

Lightweight plastic, but bright and waterproof enough for eaves, garage, etc.
Much cheaper than a globe-taking bunker lamp, more efficient and even light.

"Requires license for fixed installation." If you want something more DIY:

  • Is this normal price?

Usually there would be an orange tag (price matching) or yellow tag (clearance)

    • Seems to be more of a "special buy". Not listed on public website.

So this needs to be connected to the mains so requires some electrical skill or a licenses electrician?

So basically not very DIY friendly if I am correct?

Also has anyone had any solid luck with any solar light motion or not motion?

Mine all seem to die within a few weeks and they have all been placed in direct sunlight.

Starting to think solar lighting is a scam.

A generation ago, the modicum of skill and knowledge required would have been far more common in the community. And that was before youtube :-)

Regulations stipulate an electrician is needed if connecting these to fixed wiring. Depending on where you live, you may be able to circumvent that by installing these as temporary lighting with a plug. But realistically, neither of these approaches are typical.

In any other country, these would be sold as DIY replacements for existing fittings. Even in NZ.

    • yes they do require a sparky and a good solar light (2 years min on brightness) https://imgur.com/a/GFet6Hj

  • Any good deals on bunkers so I can buy a couple of these?
