      Sorry, we have updated.

    Cool

    • +2

      Did you buy one?

      • +1

Out of my price range, but I dig it

  • Man, 2 grand for a screen and some plywood.
I'd rather make my own, there are plenty of guides.
Also this one looks hideous with the USB ports on the front near the controls.

    • +3

On a design level, where would you put the USB ports for players to have easy access?

I am not sure if you fully understand the machine, but the reason why the USB are at the front of the cabinet is that once you have everything installed into the machine, there is no reason to gain access. You can plug in a USB stick and listen to music through Android apps, plug in hand console and play on the machine or against another player (player one for example can use the arcade joystick, but you can use console controller and vs each other). Beside gaming there are lots of other functions.

Or, plug in VR (plug and play)…

The technology is the same as what is going into our other equipment. This product is not a make your own style item.

It's an arcade machine. Why are you trying to sell it as a PC?

    • +3

Please make your own and share the photos - especially the multi-system wiring harness and USB programmable multi-control boards. I'm keen to see what you come up with.

I love arcade machine and spend a lot of time tinkering with them. I think you've massively underestimated the capability, components and build quality of this unit. Just saying.

      • I've got some plywood out back. Me thinks I'll slap one together tonight

        • +4

Hmm… I've been wondering what to do with the old fence palings…

        • +2

Just bung-in an old TV from kerbside clean-up, a Raspberry Pi and a $9.99 joystick from MSY and you'll be sorted! Save $millions$!

I'm an arcade, retro and general gaming enthusiast. I'm happy to vouch for the quality of the product these guys sell and their integrity as company.

Here's a quick look at the unit I purchased in November last year. It's the non-touchscreen "Xtreme" model.

I can also confirm it works great with the Switch….my current console of choice. I have a Switch dock permanently installed in it ;-)

Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with this small company other than being a happy customer. Other than arcade machine hardware, I also buy a lot of my parts from them to do fixing-upper-ing.

I have an earlier non-android version of this arcade game and the build quality of these machines is excellent.

  • +2

This is one of those things I would LOVE to own, and have always wanted one, but don't think I would use it enough to justify the cost. The quality does look very good and the price seems very reasonable compared to other mainstream second hand arcade machines I've looked at purchasing before.

If you're on a budget and you're happy with a CRT and basic JAMMA connectivity, something like a Sega Astro City is a pretty good option. I paid ~$800 for a refurb one from 240 in Melbourne (warning: their website is TERRIBLE).

That said, I put more time into my Game Wizard unit than the Sega Astro because I can use it for PS4 and Switch as well as my arcade boards and Pandora boxes.

      • Thanks for the info, I'll keep my eye out for one. Oh and HOLY CRAP you weren't wrong about the website, that looks like something made in Microsoft Frontpage back in the 90s!

    That vinyl art though. ..

  • Arcade purist won’t touch anything without a CRT

    • +1

What on earth are you talking about? Been to an arcade in the last 10-15 years? Namco Noir, Taito Viewlix, Sega Lindbergh (et al) are amazing LCD-based arcade systems.

      • Didn't arcades stopped being relevant 10-15 years ago? ;)

This does look kinda cool, but happy with my Blast City/GroovyMAME setup for my arcade fix. Prefer playing modern games on a big screen, with gamepad while sitting on the couch.

      • +1

Yes but he is referring to the classic games, which really do require a CRT. If not doing this for the classic gaming, a person would be much better off with a current console, or better still a gaming PC.

  • Price is still $2895

    • Also whats the ball park price for shipping around australia (eg Adelaide)

      • For any order requests please email our office or send online inquiry and we will manually discount the price. Freight is approximately $300-350.

Wow. Not one “Just get a raspberry pi and run an emulator” post.

    • There has been. Probably better of with a PC mobo tho, considering how cheap used units are and size not being an issue.

  • Really like this and the idea of one machine that supports everything.
The art looks horrible though, is there an option to get rid of it, or get my own art on?
Also, is there an option to change the colours of the buttons?
Otherwise this feels like the perfect machine for me!

    • You should be able to reskin the sides/artwork with any local printers but due to artwork licensing we are unable to handle this work. Whilst we are selling the machines in their original condition, you can easily purchase any sanwa button colours you like from the market and exchange them yourself (all buttons are connected with plug on/off wiring).

  • Been to these guys for HDMI cables for work (they're cheap $2.95 from memory) and nice people to deal with.
Looked at all the game cabinets they have there, they're pretty well made.
Unfortunately Newcastle is a little out of the way for most people to go have a look.

    • I hired a GoGet van and drove up there from Sydney to visit the showroom in the hope the machine would love up to the hype (and price tag). The gamble paid off. Impulse purchase made and I saved myself around $200 on delivery costs 😜 Expensive little road trip.

  • Something like this is nice, but without a screen (ok that disables most Android games but I'm fine with that) as I'd rather hook up a big ass lcd and some big ass speakers and all my consoles (probably need about 8 hdmi though)

    …hmm, that's pretty different lol

Just a thought, OP. Why don't you do a collaboration with http://www.noodleshirt.com to come up with new cabinet artwork for this and the Game Wizard Extreme?

Carson has been doing design and print work for LAI (et al) cabinets for years and is a bit of a legend in the arcade enthusiasts community.

    • Thanks for your feedback. Most customers are looking for current series game artwork, such as Mortal Kombat 11 that was released this week - unfortunately its something we cannot offer.

Normally we will give our customer the template/size for artwork where they can work directly with their local printers to reskin the machines.

      • Just point them in Carson's direction. He does full custom artwork (no licensing quibbles) as well as…ummm….adapting and honouring original cabinet artwork.

  • Does the unit in the sale also include the bonus 500 game Jamma board mentioned in the picture?

    • yes thanks, it includes the combo board.

  • -1

What is the "Android" part for? Is that an emulator running on ANdroid, and why if the unit already ahs support for and comes with a multi game JAMMA board?

    • The machine comes with a media box, similar to Nvidia Shield where its a standalone product. You connect this box to Google Playstore and download your games/music/etc onto the machine. Then, play the games with the arcade joysticks or via touch screen. For us, this is current style gaming.

Since the machine supports variety of gaming, some customers just want to play the old games and not worry about downloading from the Playstore, so by installing the combo board you get fixed games (basically the same gaming as most machines on Ebay/retailers in Aust) - for us, this is the "old school" style gaming.
