    Can it make Chobani ?

    • You can get Greek yogurt packs if that's what your after…Also Greek yogurt shouldn't have any added sugar.

      • +1

Also Greek yogurt shouldn't have any added sugar.

        Only honey.

    • you're going to need a Kurdish refugee and a long stick

  • These kits were $10 at Coles(approx. 5yrs ago).. why are they so expensive now?

    • why are they so expensive now?

      Collector's items.

      • Dry aged.

    • +2

Regularly half price at woolies and coles.

  • You can make the yoghurt without the pouches, using this "machine". Someone previously posted how to do this.

Basically use another yoghurt as a starter and uht milk or powdered milk.

Works out about $1.50 per yoghurt.

    • Can do one better. Add yoghurt and milk and bake it on low temp. The milk will turn into yogurt

    • This is what I do.
I've been using the Easiyo to make yogurt for a couple of years now.
Takes about 2 minutes to do.

    • Or pay a few cents more and use good quality milk.

      • What do you mean?

        • Fresh organic whole milk for example (though definitely pasteurised not raw). Not something processed into dry powder.

          • @bargainshooter: Try making it your way and then use uht/powdered milk. See which version makes yoghurt.

Any fresh milk has bacteria which means you need to heat the milk to 85 degrees for 5 minutes. Cool to 40 degrees and then make the yoghurt.

My way allows you to use the Easyio.

  • I got one of these as a gift a couple of years back and went to buy the sachets to find they cost more than a 1kg tub of yoghurt!

    Gave it away after that.

    • you don't need to buy sachets.. 100ml of yoghurt can kickstart your next batch of 1 litre

      • Well I had already given it away at this point. I know now…
But to be honest, it's just a bulky thing. I don't mind paying $4/kg for yoghurt when the alternative is this.

  • This price is not bad actually, right now woolies has special on machine for $15 down from $22, Yogurt Sachet are $3.5 each, so $25.5 already, not sure how much is Squeeziyo Yogurt Pouch in this pack.

  • I've found I get the best results from using 1/3rd of a flavour pack (70-80 grams) mixed with around 140 grams of powdered milk. It tastes exactly the same as using a full pack but works out much cheaper. It's even cheaper if I'm making unflavoured Greek yogurt as I just use a tablespoon of my old yogurt as a starter with about 200 grams of powdered milk.
