PIX15 wouldn't work in checkout for me :/?

I can't find the refresh rate anywhere, even in the eBay listing.

    • +1

      For VX3211-4K, it's 60Hz. For VA2719-2K, it's 75Hz, however, it's reported capable of overclock to 80Hz+.

      • I have the VA2719-2K myself. The default refresh rate is 60Hz. Yes, it can overclock up to 80Hz, however the monitor isn’t the best for this purpose as it frame skips a lot even at 65Hz or so.

  • You can find some reviews on the 27" on Whirlpool

I've had two of those 27", massive waste of money. Horrible for brightness/colour consistency. Dark scenes in games/videos would just appear black/grey in all corners of the screen (middle was fine).

For office work and the like, I'm sure it would be fine though.

    • Thanks for the feedback. Do you still use them for gaming. I might not use 2, but want a decent one with 1440p, UHD and around 100 Hz. Size can be 27 or 31.

This one is 60Hz, some people managed to push it to 80Hz. However, it has no FreeSync support so it is not ideal for gaming. I did try XBox One X on this monitor briefly (due to XB1X supports 2K), it's fine since consoles tend to try to lock to 30 or 60fps. PC gaming, I really wish it can do FreeSync.

        Some gripes with this monitor:

        • Dead pixel(s) and I am not the only one that has this issue. The dead pixel on mine developed after 14 days.
        • Uniformity (lack of) and blacks are not black enough.
        • Compared to other 2K 27inch IPS monitors, it is below par - hence it being the cheapest. The viewing angle (especially vertical), the monitor mask, the contrast shift are all inferior (it is still better than VA's colour shift I guess).

The main issue is lack of low cost 27 inch 2K IPS monitors with VESA mount support available right now. The offering from Asus appears better, but VESA mount is a requirement for me. I bought a VESA stand for it. If I were given a choice again, I wouldn't buy this monitor.

        • Yea, I want to upgrade from my LG 24" IPS 60 Hz monitor and will need 29-31" with higher 80-100 Hz and 1440p.

        • dead pixels develop after some time? are u sure it wasn't there to begin with? damn i need to check my tv and other monitor again.

      "But it's IPS!!1"

      — That one ozbargain guy.

  • I have the 4K version. It works fine but don't expect HDR to look good, it makes every scene look overexposed. Also 95% NTSC colour space is misleading, it does cover 100% sRGB but not above that.

    • +2

That's pretty normal when viewing HDR content on LCDs without local dimming. The specs state NTSC colour space coverage is 86% and NTSC colour size (volume) is 95%, monitors with 72%+ NTSC coverage typically also cover 100% of sRGB.

How does the 4k 31.5" compare to LG 27UL600-W ?

  • Can we get a deal on a Samsung IPS QHD 27+ Inches monitor? I don't like no name/ home brand monitors.

    • I definitely agree with you I have only ever bought LG and Samsung monitors haven’t seen any good 4K monitor deals

    • +3

ViewSonic isn't "no name" lmao they've been around for ages.

Yea I know that however it's renowned for it's budget low cost monitors opposed to the LG/Samsung monitors

        • +1

LG and Samsung both have a fair share of low end monitors too. They're not like EIZO or Apple who only offer high end monitors.

I have the VA2719-2K for over a year and this monitor is for productivity use not really ideal for gaming. It has 10bit panel plus the built-in speakers is loud — that is if you want your audio to go through dp/hdmi.

It's really pointless to overclock just for a little bump in hz. If that is your aim just add few and get 144hz+freesync instead.

    • I’ve had the same monitor for around the same time and have the same thoughts. Terrible for gaming as any overclock frame skips. Great for productivity though.

  • are all UHD Monitors 27"?

    want a 24" one

  • Thanks OP. Seems a good deal and was going to grab one for Mothers Day, but delivery to Sydney (from Parramatta!) estimated between Wed 5 June and Fri 7 June scared me off.
